Dr. Lamm is an expert in treating diabetic foot deformities, ankle disorders, sports or athletic injuries, arthritis, flatfoot, bunions, hammertoes, and various other foot and ankle ailments. He has extensive experience in joint distraction, a new technique that uses external fixation to preserve ankle and toe joints and prevents the need for fusion or replacement. Dr. Lamm performs minimally invasive surgery techniques to correct diabetic Charcot foot and to lengthen the metatarsals and toes for patients with Brachymetatarsia.

After Ex Fix placement when are you able to bear weight and walk? Also I have heard stories regarding curvature of bone after removal of Ex Fix, causing the toe to retract or appear shorter. What causes this complication?

I have the same thing I'm from russia i wish i could afford this, I'm so insecure because of it i never wear sandals I'm always wearing socks even in summer, i Don't even want to date anybody afraid they'll find out about it. You're lucky best of wishes for you and for the doctor who did this amazing job
You're fine. My ex girlfriend had this too and it's definetely not a relationship breaker! When she told me about it for the first time, I was more concerned about if it would negatively effect her ability to walk because I didn't want her to feel any pain. Trust me, don't let it stop you from dating!
I feel your pain and can relate to everything that you mentioned. I had my surgery done a few days ago. If you have insurance a podiatrist might be able to gave insurance cover it if word correctly.
