The very best DIY automatic self cleaning cat litter robot
มุมมอง 25Kปีที่แล้ว
We were leaving for vacation & needed a kitty litter solution for our 2 cats, Bailey & Theo. None of the expensive auto cleaners out there appeared up to the job. So, we built this one for around $250. It is a combination of many ideas shown here on TH-cam. Well, we only had a few weeks to test it, then we left on vacation for weeks. The system is programmed to correct itself from many errors t...

Hi Micheal, would you please share with me what material you used for the circular portion of the robotic cat litter? If you have Facebook or Instagram I would love to chat. Thank you

Sure, the solid white pieces are made from 3/4" Melamine. www.homedepot.com/p/Veranda-3-4-in-x-4-ft-x-8-ft-Melamine-White-MDF-Panel-461877/100070209 And the curved pieces for the drum are 090" FRP wall board. www.homedepot.com/p/Glasliner-4-ft-x-8-ft-White-090-FRP-Wall-Board-MFTF12IXA480009600/100389836 The FRP sits in a routered groove and the drum sides are held together with threaded rod.

@@michael-bode thank you so much for replying you’re awesome. One more question if you don’t mind. What kind of wheels/roller did you use to attach to the sprockets to make it spin ? Thank you!

Can't find exact, but something like this (removed bearings): www.zoro.com/zoro-select-caster-wheel-3-12-wheel-dia-tpr-429h32/i/G7345919/ I mounted the wheels solid to 2 shafts & used these bearings on ends: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B082QSDNKD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Then used small wheels on sides of drum to keep it centered: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B088YLXNFL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

@@michael-bode awesome and for the psu and motor it seems like you have a micro controller which sends a signal to a relay which allows the psu to power the motor driver which rotates the motor? Does that sound about right. I’m sorry for asking so many questions. I’m trying to make a similar project for my engineering project.

Yes, I use Arduino UNO. It has lots of inputs & outputs which you can control by writing a program. Lots of examples & advice on forum. Arduino & all sorts of sensors are cheap on Amazon and simple to use.
