Its happened for me two times. Once after killing a long running BBEG, and in a sci-fi game when they managed to stop a crashed colony ship from sinking into a marsh and successfully deployed it's pontoons. They had been playing weekly for a year IRL on the assuption that the ship would have to be abandoned eventually because it was sinking nearly an inch per in game night. Setting up the extraction and deployment of the ship took my players RL months. The ship became the heart of their penal colony. I will never forget my friends leaping up in jubilation and hugging each other. One of the proudest moments in my life.

I had a fun chaotic evil character who was basically treated by the party as a manchild meatshield and was tolerated because he was easy to manipulate and very useful in a fight. Had a ton of fun roleplaying moments of people either going "let him break stuff" or "we should intervene here as safely as we can"

I do this as well but mixed. I do some as my character and some as myself, this way i can review my role playing style. As for my notes, i write them down in a bulleted format like npc then info they mention, if we get in combat or skill challenges i write the rolls and outcomes. This way my DM, if he forgets something, i can help him out.

I am still shocked I managed to intimidate that dragon by having "Not afraid of Death" as a flaw, opening my arms and daring him to bite me. 😂

See if you didn’t die horribly to an NPC to a doom of your own making. Then like a cat pop up and decide that didn’t happen and just one shot a pivotal NPC with a CR rating out classing your own with some Divine lvls of BS. Being a DM can make you understand why they got mad at Prometheus. You gave them Fire! THEM! I love it.

The movie is called Love and monsters I think. Pretty entertaining. Quite good monsters. Fun for a younger audience and has some "mild peril"
