It is kind of amazing how extremely different X-Series guitars sound in youtube videos. Some, if not most, sound like crap. Some, like this one, sound fantastic. To some extent, it's gotta be the way they're recorded, but hard to know how much is the result of the guitar, how much is the player recording it. I have one on order, but I won't mind paying a couple hundred dollars more to get an all solid-wood Martin, instead.

Any way one could get the harmonies separated somehow?

I found this for $400 online in mint condition. I’m worried about it being a laminate top. Is it a good value at $400?

Found a used one for 500.00 which is what they cost new. I am not sure which guitar to purchase as my first, this could be it! thank you for a great video.

They're (Special X Series) a sweet guitar for their price. I'd get that over the Taylor GS Mini which is $200 more than the Special X Series. Where did you get it for $499? My local GC is selling it for $549.

Thank you so much for your vid. There's still precious little about this guitar on YT. I am trying to find an acoustic-electric that sounds good unplugged and to me this Martin sounds very good.

Hi Jon, this looks a lot like the Martin D-X1E Mahogany (the compressed wood - HPL body). Do you know the difference between the two?
