Please answer this one question: If a friend inviting you to a ceremony where they were going to worship and make offerings to false idols, would you attend and participate out of love for that sinner? If the answer is no, I’m curious how you see that as different.

The difference between Jesus teaching on gays getting married is a simple matter of whether Jesus was literate or illiterate. If Jesus only felt the tenderness of compassion and ignored his stated mission to complete the Old Testament, then we want an emotional illiterate Jesus. My Jesus is 788,000 words, 166,000 verses. In the beginning was the Word. What we make him in middle class America starts to split our Christian lives from the 182MM Christians persecuted for belief in all the words. The very Word is getting cherry picked to death. Cry away at the Jesus you want him to be for you. Enter into the 788,000 words of the Word incarnate. He wrote them all. They all point to him. Not us.

WE KNOW WHAT A HEALTHY, OF-AGE COUPLE GETTING MARRIED DO IN THE PRIVACY OF THEIR BEFROOM. IF GOD MADE TWO PEOPLE MALE AND FEMALE, AND ONE OF THOSE PEOPLE "CHANGES" THRIR GENDER, CAN GOD BLESS THE COUPLE'S SEXUAL ACTIVITY? CAN A CHRISTIAN PRAY THAT GOD WOULD BLESS THEIR VOW AND GRANT THEM A LONG LIFE TOGETHER EVEN IF THAT LIFE IS A LIFE OF SIN?

It amazes me that so many are so upset over his comments(and rightly so) but hardly anyone is upset in our churches that the very inerrant Word of God is being attacked, and has been for decades.

Sometimes immature Christians are going to be insulted and take offense because of their lack of knowledge of maturity in Christ. But on the other hand, Christ has set us free to go into places for the mature to go into places where most won't go. People need a doctor. Doctors need to go into places where most wouldn't go kind of like when there's a disease and another country or a plague. How doctors from the United States or elsewhere will go there and risk their lives, but we're not risking our lives. Our lives have already been saved and secured so we can go in and grab these people from the flames. How do you know somebody in that wedding ceremony? Won't talk to you about Christ and appreciate that you came and it would open their eyes. Get off your high horses children

Alistair made this an issue by writing about it and then purposely talking about it in an interview promoting the book. Framing those against as the Christian right is incendiary.

The Scriptures are clear. Jesus told His disciples in numerous places that He was returning in THEIR generation. Are so many now waiting for a THIRD return? Jesus told His disciples on the Mount of Olives that THEY would be killed and hated; THEY would see the Abomination of desolation spoken of by Daniel the Prophet; THEY were not to be deceived; THEY were to recognize the signs of His coming as surely as THEY recognized the coming of summer in the budding of the trees. Jesus told them that ALL THESE THINGS would happen in THEIR generation: "THIS generation will by no means pass away till ALL THESE THINGS take place. That included His coming in power and great glory in the clouds of heaven and the gathering of all of His elect from the four winds. (Matthew 24). WE are NOT the YE! These words were NOT addressed to us. All Scripture is FOR us but it is often not TO us! Jesus told His disciples that THEY would not finish going though the cities of Israel before He came! (Matt. 10;23). He also told THEM that some of THEM would not die until He came (Matt. 16:27, 28). He told Caiaphas, the high priest, and the Sanhedrin that THEY would "see the Son of Man sitting on the right hand of power and COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF HEAVEN" (Matt. 26:64). Jesus promised to return to THEM and receive THEM unto Himself (John 14). THEY were the firstfruits of His coming. The writer of Hebrews wrote these words to those of HIS day: "In a very, very little while He Who is coming WILL COME and will NOT TARRY" (Heb. 25). Much of the Church has misplaced hope--hoping for that which is already a reality! "Hope deferred makes the heart SICK" (Proverbs 13:12). When John was given the Revelation of Jesus Christ, he was shown those things which were in HIS day to SHORTLY take place; the time for fulfillment was THEN near (Rev. 1:1, 3; 22:6, 10). The content of the Book of Revelation reveals Christ's coming in judgment upon that apostate Old Covenant Israel (Matt. 23) and the full establishment of New Covenant Israel--the Church.
