The show was immoral, sending a message to young people know that anything goes! Yes, funny and simple with no responsibilities other than bed hopping & sex....and if you tried to live it, you experienced a tremendous disappointment. There were no values at all. Look at the way Charlie ended up with all his "silent whores." His drugs...They called it the best entertainment. Well, it wasn't because Angus T. Jones had a breakdown for a reason! Here was a brilliant actor portrayed as a dumb failure, living in his uncles house in Malibu, recognizing the slogan the show really portrayed. He said it...he said "don't watch that filth." Because there is more to life than drugs and sex, and Berta's pot brownies. It was just a comedy? It was for adults. The message to teenagers was disastrous!

Let' face it ..A funny, smart housekeeper is not a new idea on television .There was Hazel, of course,in the 60s. Alice, on the Brady Bunch. Florence, on the Jefferson's . Mrs Naugatuck, on "Maude". Esmeralda , on "Bewitched". And how about the witty Mister French, on "Family Affair." But I really think that Berta was better than any of them. She wears no uniform, makes her own rules , and is more like a wise aunt than a housekeeper.
