The way you put it resonates well with me as well when you mentioned about the design. Yes, most EVs now seem to try too hard to look EV-esque (you got what I mean) and the stark difference between ICE and EV when put next to each other. This one though, may get some looks on the street but somehow low profile on the design to be an EV. And yes, I am sold for that front and back fascia. They're just so cute!

I can still remember in the 1970s when Japanese cars were cheap and nasty. The famous saying that they were made of "Milo" tin. I remember pushing in the side panels of a new Datsun 120Y, and it just flexed in. And it really gave the feeling of floating when driving, it was so light and soft. Yet, within a decade or so, they became the reliable and sophisticated, putting the sword to American and British cars. Only certain brands survived but many of the European and British brands are now held by Chinese companies. Korean cars followed the same pattern in 1990s, and Chinese cars in the 2010s. Just the normal cycle of developing countries becoming developed as their products leaves the cheap and nasty cycle, to becoming expensive and sophisticated.

I think the shift here for getting CN cars are more so on the value for money you get compare with other foreign branded cars. More so for a large percentage of car buyers, cars are a depreciating asset. Unlike if I were to get a branded watch eg Rolex, etc. However, IMHO, given enough time and know how CN will be able to compete and maybe even best the traditional foreign brands we know.

Please stop copying Western propaganda to smear things Chinese. You are just sick. Why is it "Chinese invasion" ? When American cars dominated, people like you did not say " American invasion. When Japanese cars dominated, people like you did not say " Japanese invasion". When Korean cars started to have an impact in Malaysia, people like you did not say " Korean invasion". Now that Chinese cars are making an appearance, you immediately jump on your Western Master propaganda machine to smear China. Sickening.

Good summary of the evolution of the Chinese automotive industry from a Malaysian viewpoint. The most interesting aspect about the evolution is the Chinese manufacturers capabilities to learn and improve themselves. Proton barely tried to learn and improve their products over the years, perhaps due to their Japanese partners, and suffered a decline as a result. Perodua was a little better at responding to the market and thrive but I think they cannot adapt quickly enough to changing trends and might decline soon as a result.

Inflation in the last couple of years has devastated our spending power, leading consumers to become less brand oriented and to seek value buys. Chinese automakers, especially in EV, hit the sweet spot in terms of quality and value for money. This has allowed them to capture significant market share from the legacy brands. The video misses this important context.

Overcapacity is a lie spread by US and West. It's overcompetitive as US and West cannot beat China fairly. Chinese brands are going to dominate in the EV market worldwide. But free trade and fair competition are no longer agreed by US and EU as they cannot compete with China fairly. US and West are heading to protectionism which will create uncompetitive business environment and products eventually. Thus speed up their decline. When US cannot beats China fairly, uses lowlife tactics such as sanction, tariff and gotten Canada to detain Huawei CFO illegally (tried to use the same tactic as how US destroyed French's Alstom). US just want to contain China progress by all means which includes spreading lies, disinformation, false accusations, implementing sanction and ganging other countries to suppress China progress etc. US has lost their dignity in front of the world to see. US accelerates their own decline. Pretty stupid to me. US lies and security is just an excuse. US dare not say that US just want to contain China progress by all means.
