Barnsley Main Heritage Group has built up strong links with other community groups. Two of our closest neighbours are Dearne Valley Country Park Group and the Barnsley Old Canal Group. We hope to do more collaborative community work with other groups this year.
In the meantime we are sharing Dearne Valley Park Group's review to showcase what they do.

This is the first part of our Heritage Lottery-funded documentary 'The Story of Barnsley Main'. It recounts the 200 years of mining history on the site, including the Oaks Disaster of 1866 and other tragedies. It was written by Joshua Daniels in 2023.
