Join me on an unforgettable journey through the breathtaking landscapes of Nubra Valley, where I had the incredible opportunity to witness a vibrant cultural festival. From traditional music and dance to local crafts and cuisine, this festival truly showcased the rich heritage of the region.
Our adventure continued to the historic Diskit Monastery, the oldest and largest monastery in
Nubra Valley.
Nestled atop a hill, Diskit Monastery offers stunning views of the surrounding landscapes and houses a magnificent statue of Maitreya Buddha.
The intricate frescoes and wall paintings inside the monastery are a testament to the rich
Tibetan Buddhist culture.
But the adventure didn’t stop there! I then traveled to the serene Phyang Monastery to experience their annual Mask Dance Festival. This captivating event, known as the Phyang Tsedup Festival, features monks performing intricate dances in elaborate masks and costumes, celebrating the triumph of good over evil.
