Thanks for all of the great music. I wore out a few of your albums back in the day. CDs cured that problem
Very well made! Great content! Fun fact: I used to live in a house (my wife and I rented it. it was our first place together) on Monroe, between Central and Columbia (just south of Francis). That's not the fun fact part 😂 Monroe is a pretty straight road. Going down the hill at Garland, it has a bend in the road, but other than that, it's straight...kind of... ...if you were to be on the north side and be heading east on Francis, then take a right and head south down Monroe, you'd find that the road makes a bend right at some property (thay is now packed with homes) ....thats where the old house is located. The road makes a bend there for a reason....that reason: that home is so old, Monroe St was built *_around_* it. It was still a farm when Monroe was created. It was odd being in a home that was so old, it was the reason who the road went the way it did.
My husband and I moved to Spokane from Texas in January of this year. One of many reasons for moving were the historic buildings and homes- they are so beautiful. This is coming from a couple in their 30's, BTW. It's interesting to learn the importance of city preservationalists and the rarity of the position. Is Nostalgia Magazine still around?
Nostalgia Magazine stopped publishing about 18 months ago. :(
Pete reveria charlie martin greatest drummers
I got to meet Mr Rivera in the 90s I told him that I considered him the Frank Sinatra of rock music with his amazing voice, he smiled and said no one had ever said that to him before and he appreciated it ......he was a super nice guy.
Loved Rare Earth. Had every album. Peter Rivera’s voice... Outstanding.
their orig.guitar player was 1 of the finest pschodelic guitar players!!!
Excellent video.
I love this
My husband and I just moved to Spokane from Texas and I am loving this historical series of videos. This one is especially sweet given that you two worked together on the museum. We'll definitely be checking it out soon and I hope you both are doing well these days.
These guys were great seen them play twice as a young man and just great sets they played very talented musicians Pete was a great drummer and lead singer
My favorite band growing up
IRON BUTTERFLY 🦋 started the extended Jam_You could put all your energy into a few songs & not have to practice so much_RE original guitar player went on to play with Noel Redding & Mitch Mitchell of the JIMI Hendrix Experience
What a super video you put together. Takes me back to freshman year of high school. Loved it !
Thanks to Peter and Rare Earth for such an influence on young musicians worldwide. Growing up watching Peter play his drums and sing was inspiring in itself. Such a beautiful musical experience. ❤
...E-W & F, The Doobies, Steely Dan If You can imagine that!...absolutely Peter, Rare Earth was That Great!!!...
I love Rare Earth
Love the pop of the snare drum in "Get Ready." Pete really lays down the groove is this one.
Peter Rivera is a great drummer /musician ...and more important than that , he is a class act human being . As a contemporary in the age group Rare Earth filled my car with sound that spilled out on the streets ...back then cops used to stop cars for it .I did not care and got told many times to tone it down .But thanks Peter ...I cannot imagine my youth as I lived it , without your powerful voice , your expert drumming and Rare Earth music to complement the music that existed in those years .
great, great band.
Road tripping in the early 70s to the Greatest Hits on 8 track.
Saw this cat play with RE in Albuquerque back around 72'...... Was great... very solid drummer! Then saw him years later in "The Classic Rock Allstar's" Was also good!❤️ Thanks for the memories my dude!!
Check out the sound of that snare drum on get ready!
I got to jam with PETER in Laredo Tx at the Sheraton Inn. i got to hang out with these guys and got pictures of them feeding my kids French fries. LOL back in 1977
His voice is still amazing
Six feet under resurrected this song for me in an amazing way, my favorite series ever. This is my favorite song by this band rare Earth, and have such respect for everyone in the band .....I get chills when I hear this song.

I loved these guys.
Love this guy! What a Voice…🎶🎶🎶
Saw them in 70
As a Black man, in High School was one of my favorite groups, full of soul!
Right on Peter! Congratulations brother. Very cool. Still listen to your music always! 👍
Great drummer and great singer. I always thought they were a black band growing up.
Never paid really much attention to this group, back in the day, but Pete Rivera's voice stands out in my memory for the greatest era of music which was the 1960's and 1970's.
PR: uh we’re just gonna play a whole lotta things ya know and this one is called… oh yeah? Did we change that?…. Yeah something about the band wants to, the people that are out in the water I’m hearing that and they say they’re gonna stop everything? That isn’t too cool…they can’t stop everything…we’ll just start jammin and see what happens……. The people have to get to the side? Ok somebody else tell them that cuz I can’t get in to that at all. Announcer: ok y’all listen up a minute….the people in the water go the island on the side or get up and get in the stands or they’re gonna stop the whole thing. booing ensues and Rivera hitting his drum). Do it right now. There’s a chance of someone getting shocked in the water we got a lot of electricity around here. PR: Yeah there’s cords and everything because there’s a sound system that’s recording. They got that thing goin on, cables are comin across and nobody wants to uh fry in that…. Unknown band member: Hey….. PR: so please step back and we’ll get going. Same band member: we can still get into it Drum intro to big brother. PR: A little walking music…..a little clappin music…… One of my favorite albums of all time.
Gee bro you sure said a lot of .....whatever you said!!!
@@rockinrobb4350 I didn’t say it. Paul did at the beginning of the concert. I’m sure he was a little high. Bro.
@@rockinrobb4350 I tried to send link. It blocked it. Maybe you can get your mom to help you google ‘hey big brother’ from Rare Earth in Concert album. Tell mommy it has a picture of a brown book bag on the cover.
@@toreckman8899 There's a lot of videos of that song out there so i'm not going to go looking but i'm pretty sure i was listening to Rare Earth before you even started school!! and maybe your mom needs to show you how to send a link!!
@@rockinrobb4350 then if you were listening to Rare Earth you would have known what I posted skippy. And you would be familiar with that album as it was their best seller. So please a little respect for your elders skippy. PS. You’re older than me and you’re using words like ‘bro’? ROFLMFAO. And that name ‘rockinrobb’. Lmao.

I was 6-7 year old kid and my high-school-aged brother Danny had to look after me every afternoon after picking me up from school. One day we ended up at one of his friends’ houses and in his buddy’s room was a record player and on it was that 21-minute version of Get Ready. In hindsight I guess the guys put that on and told me to stay put (likely while they went and did something I didn’t need to be party to). Today I’d say it had desirable results. Even if I was already hooked on music (which probably was), I stared at that album cover and listened to that one side probably 2-3 times before my brother & his buddies returned. I also remember the famous poster of Brigette Bardot on a motorcycle hanging in that room. Well’ that’s another thing, ain’t it?
👏👍👍
I seriously love these local history videos
Pete Hoorelbeke (Rivera) and my Dad and Uncle Don's great friends in high school... They went to St Benedictine in Detroit....
Detroit definitely had the best rock scene ever
I had never seen someone sing and play drums at the same time - and he was such a bad ass doing it. Powerful music, Indellible impression I carry with me today.
very good drummer and a groovy dude
Please start making more videos!

Being stationed at Fairchild from 83 - 86, I remember seeing some trailers after you crossed the border from Washington into Idaho, somewhere between Stateline Village and Post Falls. Everybody knew that those trailers were a brothel.
