I guess the misunderstanding comes form the fact that mindfulness is not a western spiritual practice and the proper understanding of it has been lost in translations. In occident we misunderstand what mindfulness is or how it should be practice. If we look at how what is translated as mindfulness in eastern tradition is practiced, we can see that it leads directly to the realisation of non self, anata. In eastern traditions mindfulness is an aspect of right attention in the eightfold path, right attention implies the recognition of things as they really are, meaning their nature and caracteristics. This recognition encompass the attention or consciousness itself. It is not left out of the process as a self that is doing something.

Dit idee maakt van het huwelijk een middel om veiligheid of bezit te waarborgen, in plaats van een vrije en liefdevolle verbinding. 1. Huwelijk en het ego Het ego heeft een sterke behoefte om relaties te vormen die speciaal zijn, waarin één persoon belangrijker is dan alle anderen. Dit speciale karakter wordt vaak uitgedrukt in exclusieve afspraken, zoals trouw of bepaalde verplichtingen binnen het huwelijk.
