Homestead Community Land Trust creates first-time home-buying opportunities for households shut out of ownership by discrimination and/or our high-cost market. Homestead Community Land Trust's 2014 Stewardship Breakfast Video
Thank you Tasha and Paul for sharing your story! Yay Homestead!
This looks like a great project, congratulations!
This is so cool! I can't wait until Village Gardens is complete !
I want to do the same with my house, but I can't seem to get hold of anyone to tell me how to get this done.
I have no speakers so can't use video without narrative.
Why are there photos of only young people. Older people have the same needs.
Dear Saundra, Thank you for your comments. I'm sorry you can't hear the narrative of the video. If you can view the video, at some point, with the sound I think you'll enjoy hearing these families' stories. The families featured in this video are just three of our over 170 homeowning households. Because the theme of this year's Stewardship Breakfast was "Building a Foundation for Future Generations", we chose to focus on stories of young families with children. You're right, of course, that older members of our community also need affordable homeownership opportunities. We work with people of all ages and all family configurations. We partner with modest-income people who are trying to become homeowners. Unfortunately, we are unable to financially assist people who are already own homes. Are you in the Seattle area? Go ahead and give us a call 206-323-1227 or check out our website www.homesteadclt.org to see if our program might be a good fit for you.
