In my area, (upstste, NY) tenants in apartments were getting "kicked out" so the owner of the building could airbnb, vrbo, etc.. people can't afford housing because of lack of supply. Eventually, things will become so unaffordable noone will have money for airbnb, in a recession the first thing to go is travel. Investors can own dozens, even hundreds of airbnbs. There is our housing market shortage. Looking for a home or apartment? Stop paying off the mortgage on someone elses vacation home, while your rent keeps going up.

I don't feel like these numbers are quite accurate with the rent and home prices... You could easily find a home in Vegas for like $250,000. Very much so a starter home and condos start at like 175... And a one-bedroom in a low to a decent area are like 900 to 1200. Maybe I'm wrong but when I came to the city I had a one bedroom in the spring lake area for 1050 a month. And then I later bought a condo for $185,000 in the same neighborhood with a $60 HOA. All this in 2024.

Most of Teslas battery's today are designed to outlast the life of the car or truck in this case and their new ones slated to be in the new model y should have 80% so after 3 million miles. I think your 150k replacement at $19k is a little off.
