Why don't you do your phd on the interaction between race and caste? That interaction for me is everyday . I don't need to do a phd on it. If there was a way to etch this as a tattoo on my forehead, i would do it. Wonderful. Wonderful. I cannot tell you how much every word of yours helps vijetha

What an inspiration! I hope you would also take cognizance of the fact that MEN are also abused, and they too don't open up about it. Obviously, this is a minority. But is it only numbers that deserve justice? I am a woman and know of men who are in bad marriages, because of their children, because of the fear that the Law is against them, as is popular opinion. I hope that one day you would also highlight the other side's story, because unfortunate as it is, there are those who are taking undue advantage of our sensitivity towards women's issues.

It was a great opportunity to listen from such knowledgeable people having different and perspectiveson this issue which remains close to my heart a I am also a woman with disability having partial vision. I agree as Renu ma'am's commented that not even in rural area but a person with disability in well developed area can be marginalized or excluded especially under Covid times. However, "Living Independently" I believe depends on how you perceive it. For me, Living Independently does not mean living separately or something that is a western concept. To me Living Independently means being very much in community, engage with people but at the same time having capacity to make an independent choice where that very community supports me . So as a woman with disability living independently will be " being able to make independent choices or decisions without cultural, social or structural barriers". To be very specific for example, when I was in the U.S. for my studies I was more independent in terms of going anywhere I wanted to irrespective of the distance as public transportation system was so accessible and me not being able to drive because of low vision was not a barrier because of that alternative.

Thank you, Gorgeous Gayatri, for this fiery, feisty rendition ... Let us say no to gender violence and discrimination in its myriad forms, some subtle, some not so subtle and some horrendously brutal ... Let us follow not just the letter but the spirit of our constitution ... Let us collectively rise and shine and manifest the Shakti within

Kudos to you for standing up for this worthwhile cause. It is right that you have identified violence as the overwhelming urge to control and have power. Women when empowered can be powerful instruments of positive change. As a survivor of violence, it touches me greatly that you, as a man, stand up for women. May God bless you.
