The President died but he did bestow honours to our General. Gen. Opande should have been the Chief of General Staff (CGS, now CDF) after General Tonje. PResident MOi refused.

I also wonder the same if he can be so honored. In my retirement in 2020, nobody bothered whether you are leaving or not. The bosses hid behind the covid 19 wave to keep silence. Update, no one has ever recalled us to say thank you for year service. IG, please take note. I retired very unceremoniously.

Notice how Margaret Kenyatta pronounces Mzee Dūng’ū. I grew up speaking Gikūyū and Swahili languages. I speak them both fluently. I’ve lived in Europe for 3 decades now. I taught myself to speak English with the American accent, but I stubbornly pronounce Gikūyū names as they are pronounced in our language. Mwagi, Joroge, Dūngū, Masharia etc.

Those people who don't like their languages but associate themselves with a foreign language are still enslaved. Which colonialist pride themselves in your language that you can take pride in theirs? Look at French President, Russian President, Ukrainian President, and many more....they all pride themselves with their own language mjitafsilie

80% of Kikuyus write Gĩkũyũ in Kheekhouyoaw (Kiswahili vowels). Others like Njoki write in Gheekhouyoaw (using English Vowels). If your written Gĩkũyũ does not have the Ĩ and Ũ vowels, than know you are a Gĩkũyũ illiterate.

She's lying, ni maringo tu na kujifanya mzungu sana. We speak kikuyu fluently with her always ,kwake,kwetu na gicagi... She's my Aunt and hearing these words come out of her mouth just irritates me.

Well, you have a very Kenyan accent. My husband is American and he speaks Kikuyu in a kikuyu accent and voice and confuses my family before laughing and they realize it's not me. It's not a source of pride to not know your language. It's shameful. These are the the people who brag about being fluent in rudimentary French but can't speak their own language. What a hoot. Someone doesn't have to teach his children a language.....no body does...I wasn't taught either, my first language was Swahili, followed by English then my native...... But I speak my native as eloquent if not better than those who claim to be home grown. So it is a matter of choice, you can speak it if you want to, your dad had nothing to do with it hon justice. I even know Luo, so well.....how? Most of our neighbors growing up in Mombasa,were luos and I learned it too. Pole for the lose though.
