Memorial Day Turns on Mt Hood
มุมมอง 233 ปีที่แล้ว
Checking off September with an overnight trip to Mt Hood. Weather was perfect and snow exceeded expectations. If you're curious, this was the route we took. It took a little under 5 hours at a comfortable pace, but you could easily cut it down to 1 hour if you wanted. www.strava.com/activities/5912577723

Newton's Alchemy

We all know Newton for his work on physics, but did you know he also spent years of his life on alchemy? In this video, I discuss alchemy, Newton, and common misconceptions surrounding the two. OpenCV Disparity Mapping // 2020 Quest
มุมมอง 2.8K4 ปีที่แล้ว
For my 2020 Quest Project, I used the power of stereoscopic cameras to build depth maps for a flexible and affordable car-surroundings system. While it never had a chance to realize its full potential, it taught me a lot about real-world c library implementation.
San Carlos to Lake Tahoe and Back // Flight Timelapse
มุมมอง 634 ปีที่แล้ว
This time-lapse was taken from the tie-down of a Beechcraft Bonanza flying from San Carlos airport (KSQL) to Truckee airport (TRK) and returning via Lake Tahoe. Each frame was taken every second, making the resulting footage 30x faster than real life (actual flight was around 1:50).

This quick timelapse was recorded on a Beechcraft Bonanza flying from San Carlos Airport (KSQL) to Truckee Airport (TRK) around evening. We had to slow our approach to Truckee because of a bear on the runway, though the issue was resolved before we landed.

Dissolving Chicken in Potassium Hydroxide // Timelapse
มุมมอง 1.1K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Using an aqueous solution of potassium hydroxide, I managed to catch to melting and subsequent solidification of chicken thigh in the caustic liquid. The solution was roughly 1/2 cup of undistilled tap water combined with 1/2 cup of caustic soda. The timelapse took place over roughly 2 hours. It should also be noted, this is not really safe so it should only be done with proper equipment. Pleas...

Vapor Pressure through Snowpack Animation
I CAST GAUGEUS YEETUCUS!
How much do you need for a chicken about 160 pounds and 6’3?
doesnt work for me, are steps the same if the project targets both Intel and M1/2 processors ?
adding all the libraries has ZERO effect on performance
Definitely* your fault haha
That looked like fun. Did you you try again with an improved gauge mounting scheme?
He Thomas, is there any chance you you how to imporve depth maps from images up close?
I miss manning up but not maintainence! Hoorah! ABE3, USS JOHN C STENNIS (CVN-74), AIR V2 DIVISION BOWCATS CAT 2
I have put ma gauge on the soda stream machine itself. The machine blow off valves opens at 115 to 120 psi on the soda stream. Spiced the valve in the tube with high pressure nylon hose and pressure connectors.
Good to know!

OMG Thanks!!
Thank you for the tutorial, still applicable today and helped me out. Just a tip, option+command+C copies a files path rather than the file itself. So you don't have to drop the file into terminal to find its path.
Cool video! Sounds like a good experience. And you got to meet your mentor, nice! I learned some useful stuff for my project too, thank you!
Thanks Man!! 3 days of struggle, and finally resolved.
How much of this is singletrack? I'm in the area and am thinking of riding it.
I climbed up via Squaw's fire roads which makes for an easier ascent. The descent is like 95% single track but there are a couple short sections where you meet up more fire roads.
'Just use python' Awesome. Nice video.
70 psi (nearly 5 bar!) around the moment of the explosion. Of course a plastic threat won't hold 🤣
What's the usual max psi of a plastic soda stream bottle ? I got 2 expired ones do u think it's ok to use. They expired in 2021 but look.ok . What's the worst that can happen to me ?
@@Matowix Plastic shards in your eyes if you're really unlucky.
@@pubbiehive it's fine. Been using them . I'm relaxed around it now. I even over carb them while staring right at the bottle
Its not 70 psi at the bottle

May I ask why there are multiple issues at the left 10:22 ? Thanks for your great video !
When I running the program, it shows "signal SIGABRT". and (no such file xxxx) opencv4
Gives me chills. I’ll never forget.
Please fill in the blank spaces...Cannot make out everything he says. Do all Air Bosses have this speech routine before a days launch? "On the flight deck, air crews are manning up for the 2010 launch. The temperature is 84 degrees the altimeter is 3019. It´s time for all unneccessary personnel to clear the catwalks and the flight deck. All flight deck personnel get into the complete proper flight deck uniform. Helmets on, buckles, sleeves rolled down googles down, check ---?--------tied down and all loose gear about the deck, check your pockets for FOD, check all rotors clearances and prop archs. Start all the go-aircraft for the 2010 launch. Start em´up."
chocks, tie downs and all ......
Startem up. Sweetest words in the uS navy!
I sleep better knowing these cats are out there.
You had to of worked on a flight deck to understand the level of nostalgia this brings
I checked out your Caltopo map that you made, and noticed that Thunder Mountain Trail was on there. Have you ridden it? I was up in Squaw Valley about six months ago, and started to ride the trail, but noticed that it was really overgrown. Is that true for the whole trail? And are there any other trails in Squaw Valley that you know of that you didn't put on the Caltopo map, or does that map have every trail in the area?
The first part of the trail is definitely overgrown and I’ve never ridden it. The second half is much better and a lot of fun. I think this Strava post had my descent (strava.app.link/kudOp5r1Dlb) As for the rest of the trails, I’m not sure yet. I was hoping to map all the trails this summer but I left on a trip and didn’t get a chance before snow came. All the trails on the CalTopo are the ones I’m aware of.

Thanks a lot! This was very useful. A plist didn't work with me. I managed to fix it by going to ProjectName > Signing&Capabilities > Resource Access > Camera.
Kindly explain in the detail. I am stuck as . Prodcut folder is removed from xcode 13
i just started using xcode and when i create a new project, the products folder is not created for some reason and i dont know where to put that plist file. can someone please help me with that?
That's Awesome!!!
Amazing video! I have a question that there's no "Products folder" when i create a new project, Do you know why? Thanks!
Ah, the beginning of the next flight cycle. The flight deck is an amazing place - it reminds me of the warmup period before a car race begins.

Did you happen to lay a track on an app like AllTrails or Ride With GPS to show the route? I'd love to do this.
Yeah, here's my Strava post! www.strava.com/activities/5426303389 I've also got a Caltopo map I made for myself with a few of the other trails around Squaw. caltopo.com/m/FKT9 If you do go try and attempt it, I'd just warn that the trail marked on the map doesn't really line up with the trail in real life. If you notice on my Strava activity, there's a clump of GPS points on the southern most tip of my route where I bushwhacked for a little while trying to find it. When I finally met up with the trail, snow prevented me from climbing to the actual starting place so I kinda just hopped in mid route. Towards the end, I rand out of time and had to bail early but the full descent (shown in green on the Caltopo) is amazing. Good luck and have fun!
