Thank you!!! 💖
Looks great
Thanks! They’re very yummy and actually really simple. 😊
Awesome 🙌🧡😋
Thank you!
I'm all in on this!
It’s scrumptious! 👍🏼😊
Ow I have that pan so I just saved this recipe. 😂
You’re ready then! 👊🏻🤣😊
That’s sounds wonderful. But I need to buy cake pans now. 😊
LOL! You can use an oblong pan and make it a regular cake instead of stacked. 👍🏼🤣
@ I can do that!
@@madkatsmum3157yeah! Just check it at 25 minutes so you don’t overbake it lol
What about frozen oh for frosting.
I’m sure you could use frozen orange juice that has been thawed to make the frosting. I’ll put the recipe here for you in a few minutes. Let me go get my recipe book. 👍🏼😊
Printable recipe please……
3 cups sifted cake flour 2.5 tsp baking powder 1 tsp salt 3/4 cup softened butter 1.5 cups granulated sugar 3 eggs Zest of 1 medium orange 1 cup milk Preheat oven to 350 F. Combine dry ingredients. Then combine with mixer the butter, sugar, eggs, and zest. Add the flour mixture alternating with the milk until all combined. Pour mixture evenly into two 9-inch round pans or three 8-inch rounds, or one 9x13 inch oblong pan. Bake at 350 for 25-35 minutes until toothpick comes out clean at center. Frosting: 1.5 sticks softened butter (3/4) cups 4 cups powdered sugar Zest of one orange 2-4 tablespoons of orange juice Frost cakes once they are completely cooled.
Ya dont need to add flour or startch to thicken the sauce? I missed it if ya did
Yes I added 1/4 cup of flour at the early part after the veggies cook in the butter for a couple minutes. You can use corn starch if you prefer, just reduce the amount to 3 tablespoons. 👍🏼
Great idea!
Tastes great too!
Tell ya, everyone is leaving Twitter nowadays for BlueSky. Are you, Six, or Ricco there? Just got my Blue account -- already a few hundred followers in less than 24 hours. It's just like Twitter, 'cept in the early days.
Yes we are there. 👍🏼
Awesome!!
Thanks!
Girl, you know I’m up for your food!!!
Thank you!!! 😊
I'd rather see that than pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving any time.
Me too! I’m NOT a fan of pumpkin pie lol
Looks really tasty
Thank you! It's a really good recipe!
That looks delicious
Thank you!
A little more butter in the crust would be helpful.
Yes. I’ve done that before but I was trying to just follow my recipe exactly. I should have just melted some more. 👍🏼
Hi Neanie - it's very similar to how we make a Bakewell Tart in Ireland, only we would use a thin layer of raspberry seedless jam on the pastry base. When you blind bake the pastry crust you could put a strip of aluminium foil around the rim, to prevent it from over-browning. Also, we do not always put icing on top of the tart, but sometimes coat with a little warm apricot jam. Keep cooking!
Thank you for the tips! Also thank you for watching! 👍🏼😊
Grreeaattt!
Thank you!
Sounds good.
Thank you! It is very good especially warm with some vanilla ice cream on top. 😊
Keep up the good work Jamie. I'll try this one :) Say hi to your other half for me. Lil' guy in your profile looks happy and getting bigger. Cheers, Gloria.

The cake looks beautiful but I really wish you had sliced it so we could see the inside with the filling.

I agree, straight to the point instructions. Thank for including the recipe. Someone gave me this recipe over 45 years ago and I’ve misplaced placed it and have been craving it. I’ve looked up several but you are only with both cake and frosting. This is a keeper. Thank you for sharing.

How is life on Threads ... Twitter is out of control, and Musk is a complete idiot.
Much better on threads. And you’re right about you know who. I deleted my account over there.
Where's that husband of yours? Have not seen him on Twitter in a while? Miss his beyond funny tweets!
Threads. We got off the cesspool that Twitter has become. Lol
As always, lookin' good.
Thank you! 😊
Excellent quality video. I always wondered what a checker board pie/tart looked like and made of. Looks yummy. ❤
Thank you! I’m glad you liked the video! The pie is almost like a pecan pie but without pecans lol
This looks incredibly easy but Yummy ❤ We are going to make this today!
It is very simple, but so good! Let me know how you like it! 😊
@@neaniestexaskitchen7956 absolutely! What type of apple do you think works best?
I use Granny Smith because they get softer when you cook them. Red delicious works too, but I avoid some of the other varieties because they stay firmer. If you like firmer apples, then use one of the hybrid varieties. 👍🏽
@@neaniestexaskitchen7956 gotcha! I'm like you and prefer softer, so I'll prolly just follow your lead in this. Thank you much for taking the time to sort me out. I'm so happy to have found your channel. ❤️ In the mean time, have a safe 4th! 🎆
Thank you! I’m glad you found me also! Have fun and be safe! 😊 Happy 4th of July! 🇺🇸
What would be fun for holidays, like the 4th, pipe different colors of the whipped cream on the top. Like white and blue. Christmas could be green and white.
That’s a great idea! I didn’t pipe it on because I was worried my whipped cream wouldn’t keep the shape but maybe it would have held. Let me know if you pipe it and it does keep the shape. 👍🏼😊
great idea!
I saved this video, cannot wait to make it. Excellent video quality, a joy to watch. What type of sugar did you use for the whipped cream, reg or confectioners?
I just used regular sugar. It dissolves in the cream. You could use confectioners too if you prefer. I’m glad you like the video! 👍🏼😊
Those look a amazing!
They are! Thank you!
Hey there, QOD here. I was thinking about y'all. I pray y'all are doing well. Hope your wrists heals soon. And it's always good to see the homie Six. ♥️♥️♥️♥️

Great video for a great bread!
Thank you! I love that bread and it’s so soft and flavorful. I hope you’ll try the recipe. 😊
@@neaniestexaskitchen7956 A link to print out the recipe would be awesome!
@@QueenChatty1 I have it written down but I’ll try to post it here for you shortly. 👍🏼😊
@@neaniestexaskitchen7956 Would be much appreciated thanks!
@@QueenChatty1 okay. This is the recipe. Ingredients: 1.5 cups whole wheat flour 2.5 cups bread flour 3 Tablespoons cocoa powder 1/4 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup honey 3 Tablespoons molasses 1/4 cup canola or olive oil 1 teaspoon salt 1.5 cups warm water 1.5 tablespoons yeast Cornmeal to sprinkle on the baking tray Method: In a bowl, mix the warm water, brown sugar, honey, and molasses. Add the yeast and stir. Leave to soften and dissolve for about 5 minutes. Mix together the flours, cocoa powder, salt, and oil. Then add in the yeast mixture. Combine all by hand thoroughly or using a stand mixer until stretchy and smooth, then cover with plastic wrap and allow to rise for about an hour. (I use the proof setting, but a warm area will work) at standard room temp it may need to rise for longer. It needs to double in size. After it has risen, turn out onto a floured surface and divide into 8 equal portions. Roll out each into log shapes. Place them onto a parchment lined baking sheet sprinkled with cornmeal and cover with a light tea towel. Let them rise for about 20 minutes, then bake at 400 F for about 15-20 minutes.
Yummy!
It was!
