Crocheted Necklines For Knitters
มุมมอง 1216 หลายเดือนก่อน
This video is made for knitters to add a little crochet to their finishing toolbox. This neckline style can be tricky for knitters who don’t typically crochet to picture, but it provides for a lovely, delicate finish that can really uplift a garment. And, it's not difficult at all! In this tutorial, I’ve gone step by step to show you how it’s done with both live stitches (from a provisional cas...

This pocket technique is featured in two (so far!) of Kate Oates sweater patterns, Warmth & Harriet Cardigan (featured in this tutorial). It results in incredibly study, double lined pockets. This demonstration shows how to join the pocket linings to the sweater itself after they have been knit according to the pattern instructions. This is a great knitting technique for weaving in ends on the wrong side of the work. Note: This was the very first tutorial I ever made and the quality is not amazing! But, it's still a great technique.

Wearing Cropped Sweaters
มุมมอง 1.7K10 หลายเดือนก่อน
I used to be a hater... but look, it's true CROPS ARE FOR EVERY BODY. There is zero belly-showing included in this video. I could have made this 2 hours longer by showing off more outfits but I tried to keep it thematic and style my sweater with pieces that you might just already have (or similar!) in your closet. This video isn't just images, it also includes notes on why and how certain thing...

Working from the top down? Try binding off your sleeve stitches instead of placing them on hold!
มุมมอง 45210 หลายเดือนก่อน
This trick not only makes it easier to try on your sweater in progress, but it also helps to prevent stretching out the exterior sleeve stitches. It's so simple to do and will become your go-to method when working top-down seamless sweaters.

Crossback & Back Neck Width
มุมมอง 738ปีที่แล้ว
While most patterns won't provide you with their crossback measurement, you can use it to help you choose a size in set-in sleeve designs, or to help you calculate your ideal back neck width. In this video we will take both measurements but I'll also show you how to use your Crossback and Shoulder measurements to calculate your actual Back Neck if you're having trouble getting an accurate measu...
4-way Upper Arm Circumference
มุมมอง 524ปีที่แล้ว
Did you know that most of us have different circumferences on our right and left arm? In this video, I'll show you four different locations to measure your upper arm, 2 on each arm, in order to know which measurement should be used when determining if the upper arm circumference in your pattern will work for you. This video series is accompanied by a blog post, so don't just watch the videos, g...

Wait... breathe in and hold it before measuring? Or take a deep breath, exhale, and then measure?

I'm flabbergasted that you have no comments! I'm am stunned by this method of placing the top down sleeve stitches on hold. This is absolutely brilliant. I've been searching for hours for solutions to my stitches on hold stretching as much as 3/4 inch, leaving no solution for closing the underarm holes successful. I'm realizing I need to fix my tension too, but I've almost been reduced to tears trying to knit the top down sleeves when none of the solutions given work for me. Thank you.

Hi Kate Is it possible for you to show how to pickup underarm sts without holes for sleeves. This is the biggest problem I have with my knitting. Very stressful Thank you

Hi Kate, I have been searching for what seems like forever on how to start a top-down contiguous start - I do wish your instruction speed were slower but I stuck through to the end [1:02 - 8:24] and am very appreciative to you for this demo because I now understand how it's done. ~~👍🏽and Gracias!

Thank you these measurement videos! I just finished watching and taking mine. You did a great job of demonstrating and covered a lot of important measurements that most people don't. I've been looking for a pre-made sheet where I could record them but haven't found any. I'm going to undertake knitting a sweater and I want to feel like I have more control. I've done 4 summer tops and would like them to not be quite so boxy. Thanks again for show us the way to do this.

Kate - in the tutorial of how to measure my body for a sweater, you mentioned looking into your Tailoring Workshop, but I cannot locate that. Is it available for purchase on your website, or is it a teach-on-location class only?
