Bompa's Homestead
Canada
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 5 ก.พ. 2024
Hi :-)
I'm Bompa, 50 years old, living in a mountain in the province of Québec, Canada.
A little over two ago, I bought 11 acres of forest with a house and a garage on it.
I have lots of projects for this land.
Please join me on my projects, as I will be posting videos of things I do while living alone on my homestead.

-40F outside - Help has arrived - Continuing the baclony
My daughter and her boyfriend came to the homestead to visit and help on the balcony.
The temperature hit -40F during the week. It was really cold working outside.
The balcony is moving slowly.

Running out of wood - Cleaning detergent made of wood ash
มุมมอง 6014 วันที่ผ่านมา
I'm running out of wood for the winter, since I worked on other things, I did not have enough wood to heat the house all winter. Cutting, splitting, moving the wood, is all part of living on a homestead. I save around 300$ on heating per month by heating the house with the wood stove. Finishing filtering the cleaning detergent I made with wood ash. I filtered it about 10 times to have the final...
Homemade Eggrolls - Balcony frame is done.

Continuing on the balcony. Managed to finish the frame of the balcony. The frame is all burnt and ready. Made homemade eggrolls, i do this every year around the new year. Tried something different this year, instead of boeuf, i added deer meat. Not the same taste. Eggroll recipe: 2 cups (500 ml) finely chopped fresh cabbage ½ cup (125 ml) finely chopped celery ½ cup (125 ml) grated carrots ½ cu...

Making liquid cleaning detergent with wood ash
มุมมอง 50หลายเดือนก่อน
This is how I make my liquid cleaning detergent on the Homestead. 3 cups of water for 1 cup of ash. Let stand for 1 month, mixing twice a week. I recommend filtering the ash to not have big chunks in it ;-) I will be posting another video in a month to show how I filter and use it.

Hey! I am also working on finding some natural ways to wash clothes. You can make a comparison video of how much it clean the clothes. Before and After video of a white cloth with some different types of stains on it like oil, turmeric, black dirt, etc. It will be very helpful. And also how much quantity of liquid with respect to water we can get for clean to get the best results. Waiting for you reply. Thanks in advance.
The work must go on... even with snow. Good job. Subscribed
Yes it does :-) Thanks for the sub!
hey thanks for the help change mine but the eps still flash and the steering stil hard any sugestiuons ?
If it really was the EPS fuse that you changed, Verify the fuse holder to make sure it was not damaged. I heard of some people that had to change the holder because it was damaged by the melted fuse. Also make sure you bought a good fuse from a car store, not a cheap fuse, it will blow up. I would verify the system fuse that is also a 30AMP.
Greetings from Flanders ;) love how you pronounce 'bompa' as 'boompa', makes it sound a lot cooler actually. :p
Wow that is cool :-) My father was from Anvers. the pronounciation I use is how I learned to call my grandfather ;-) Now my grandchildren call me like that also . Love seeing comments from Belgium, Thank you :-)
@BompasHomestead ah yes Antwerpen :)
Will tag along for the videos!
Ahhhh le vert! Wow! Ça fait du bien!
yes it's quite nice :-)
I read the title and immediately thought either you had committed a crime or your brother was not going to be very happy stuck in a floor.
Yeah!!! I don't like the word insulating or insulation HAHAHA I find it sounds weird. I keep saying isolating instead LOL Thanks for your comment :-)

Thank you for your comment Jim, very much appreciated. It is lots of work, specially when you have a full time job ;-) But I love every minute of it and would not change it for anything :-)
Man I am getting jealous now, look around you. Where is this place. Thanks for sharing.
Thx for commenting Hesh, glad you like my videos :-) You can text me if ever you want to visit, my cell number did not change ;-)
I bought a brand new 2024 800xc put 350 miles on it and already blew the rear differential. The funny thing is that the Atv wasn’t even put in an environment that should have been able to test its capabilities never mind blow the rear differential. I put 350 extremely easy miles on it . Most ppl would laugh at the stretch of trail that I rode 350 miles on the machine a scooter could handle the terrain. I’m getting the rear fixed selling it and buying a used Kawasaki Brute Force or Kingquad. I literally wasted 11000$ cash for this cf Moto I’m beyond mad over it
Sorry to hear that Jason, I have mine for 2 years now, it has 76 000km on it. It was used as a security ATV on a very big land and ran 24/7 for 3 years. Mine is a 2019 Cforce 400, I use it as a work ATV on the Homestead. I find myself lucky that I only had 2 issues with it, the EPS fuse and the main strap that ripped a part from normal use. I personally love mine
Bel homme ❤
Thank you for your comment :-)
Wow
Thank you for your comment :-)
Well, I've had a few accidents and I'm pretty sure there's more than $5000 damage to that sled. Unfortunately if he's got insurance it's a good thing because it's probably gonna be written off.
That was before taxes ;-) Seems it will be passing on his car insurance he told me. Not sure how he managed that :-o Was still a fun day and makes for a great story now HAHA
Mel was here !!! Great piece of land ! Cant wait to visit ❤❤❤
Please do!
Love your video, very excited for your upcoming projects😊😊
Thank you , it is much appreciated :-)
