Spectacular! This chapel is just beautiful, and the Austin organ speaks for itself. Wonderful Mass from Widor, which was obviously composed at a period between his first two symphonic cycles {SYMs 1-4 Op.13 - - - SYMs5-8 Op.42 - - - SYM Gothique Op.70 - - - SYM Romaine Op. 73 There was also a Symphony No. 3 for organ and orchestra

Widor's masses are so significant to me. I was part of my school's chapel choir from the age of 9 until 18. With them I performed works such as Mozart's Requiem, Bach's St John Passion, Handel's Messiah, and many many more, but I remember that the first ever major work I did with the choir as a 9 year old boy was Widor's masses, and that caused me to fall in love with choir and singing, and I am now a student at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Listening to this and singing along with each voice group is like a journey through my whole childhood and I have been brought to tears. Thank you for this.

Congratulations! Everything is perfect. The harmony of the choir and the voices and of course the sound of the great organ. This in combination fits perfect together! It's the best version of this kyrie! Goosebumps

Wow! This is on a par with the best recordings of this I've ever heard. SUPERB! Only RC choir I have ever known to match this was the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen, Baltimore under Adric Macsisak's leadership.

What an amazing piece! There is so much relatively unknown music to explore!

Brilliant performance. I became acquainted with Dr Menendez at A Celebration of Yale Singing in Woolsey Hall, Yale University on 25 May 2019 during the 65th reunion of my Yale College Class of 1954. The Celebration concluded with Dr Menendez's performance of the Toccata from Charles Marie Widor's Symphony No 5 for Organ. I was sitting about three rows directly behind the organist, so I could see that Dr Menendez was playing this difficult piece from memory. That blew my mind! When I told him that I was astounded, he replied that there were too many pages of the score to turn. I see in this video that Dr Menendez also played the Vierne symphony from memory. Absolutely amazing!
