In January 2019 I started uploading an album a month for thirty months. When the thirty months are up I guess I'll just keep uploading albums as I complete them. It's my life's work. Some of these albums were recorded in professional studios, others in basements, kitchens, wherever, on old cassette decks, 1/4-inch reel-to-reels, minidiscs, beta tapes...I don't expect anyone to like every one of my albums, but I hope you can find at least one album amongst them that you enjoy enough to listen to more than once. If you do, then I've done my job.

Eholt Pass (2024)

Thanks so much for listening. The photos are by my niece, the artist Leta Bak. She told me that her son, Jonny, took one of the photos, but by the time I knew that I had produced and uploaded the video. You're right, they are quite stunning. I'm lucky to be married to an artist and to have several in our family and circle of friends, so often when I need an image for an album cover all I have to do is look through their photos on Facebook or in our old photo albums; I always find what I need, and so far no one has refused me permission to use their work. I'm a lucky guy.

No, they aren't. I guess I should look into Spotify. But you can download them from here if you have a TH-cam downloader. I'm not charging money for the downloads, just glad to know these songs are going into peoples' ears.

And happily! Right Eli? My digger boss was Nick Abetkoff, in 1990, but I worked in the packing house in the '60s, too, when the boss was Sugimoto. Just about everybody in Sunshine Valley did at one time or another.

Hi Peter! Yes, this is from that beta tape. It was my first ever digital recording. It was important to me just personally, and I'm really glad if a listener gets through the whole thing, and especially if they find even one song they like.

Yeah, in my great huge studio with my bottomless budget, guitarists and producers and excutive producers all over the place, backup singers laying about or rehearsing parts, two or three drummers, each specializing in a single rhythm, waiting to lay down their next claims to fame, caterers wandering in with trays of sandwiches and drinks...just another day at Fairheart Studios.

It's all good, but in particular I have always loved every part John added. Carol McQuaid deserves a lot of credit, I can only claim to have had the good sense to listen to her.
I used to love when I could take a smoke break and just watch John working out a guitar part, lay it down, just exactly as I'd described. I was watching genius.
