Simple, graphic landscapes full of color in the spirit of Etel Adnan.
We will look at the magical and simplified landscapes of Etel Adnan as we play with color. To do this exercise at home you could draw 2-4 simple landscapes, using just a few lines to create mountains, sky and sun or moons, and then play with the colors of those things. Maybe the sun is a saturated red on a dull blue background in one painting and then that same landscape has a dark green sun and dull yellow background on the next. This video explores Adnan's work and how she uses the aspects of color to make engaging work.

Bright, saturated, and loved by the Impressionists - Creating a high key painting
มุมมอง 1612 หลายเดือนก่อน
Keeping your palette in the mid to high-value range of your palette can lead to extremely vibrant and bright paintings. This is a great exercise for those of you who tend to be more Rembrandt than Monet, as it forces you to use color contrast instead of color contrast to create depth in your painting. It can't hurt to stretch a new painting muscle and this is a fun way to push yourself out of y...
