Who built this for Sears?
It seems like budget systems back then were of higher-quality than later on, and sounded better.
hey i have an old 8 track record player similar to yours i cant get the record player working could you help?
I still have mine that I bought brand new in 1987 I believe. I forget what I paid back then. Pretty crappy sound quality for a Sony. I bought it for when I used to paint apartments way back when.
I have the same, can´t reduce the volume. Could you please explain this a bit more. Which ICs did you change?
Nice! Can I ask where you got your belts? Just picked up one of these units myself.
Hi, sorry I didn’t keep the part numbers for the belts I used, but I bought them on eBay.
Never seen one of those! Super cool!
Отличная дека!👍 Есть у меня в коллекции несколько подобных аппаратов!)
Mine is still working
I wish I sounded as good when I was 50!
Thanks guys!! Can’t wait to hook it back up this weekend 🤙🏽🙏
Beautiful deck...
I had one of these that I brought back from Japan in 1978. It produced excellent recordings. The test tone is for Dolby level calibration to get optimal noise reduction regardless of the tape brand or formulation.
That thing looks like something out of the Jetsens! Super cool!
I have one just like this. What kind of replacement needle fits this model ?
The needle is based on the cartridge that is installed in your turntable. In my case, I used a Tetrad T5HD needle. If your needle looks like this one, then you should be good to go.

Thank you for your reply! We’re glad you like it!
Nice job! Super clean installation!
Beautiful install
Looks identical to the one I have.
That's awesome! I hope you're enjoying your stereo! Thank you for the comment!
I just subbed to your TH-cam channel!! I know that very Paul Simon album 💿. I and my stepmother rode around town, listening 👂 to it. This album 💿 came out in 1987. Again, your friend, Jeff!!
Jeff, Thank you for your subscription. We're just getting started with our channel and appreciate your support! We've been doing this stuff for a long time. If you' haven't seen the live performance of Graceland... it's a must-see! Stay tuned for more great videos!
Memory lane sure does not get traveled down, does it. All this great 😊 OLD, and VINTAGE stuff. Outlasts any junk today. Sadly 😞, it’s all the new junk that gets all the views. Your friend, Jeff.
Slowly but surely people are catching on to how cool the old stuff is! We also sell and install the new stuff for people, but our passion lies with vintage electronics!
I bet there are a lot of people with stories like this,
For sure! Thanks for the comment!
Beautiful stereo and love the back story!
