I am getting a aerial hoop on my birthday
i actually drew out this routine, movement by movement, in my sketchbook and tried to perform it as a beginner (but beginner-intermediate in callisthenics) and I have an even more heightened respect for this video, after knowing how hard it is!!

this is so beautiful. i LOVE this ~style~! my instructor and i just got into it. she wants more ballet movements, and i want this. smooth and graceful, but way more fun. thank you for videoing and showing off your amazing skills. that hella meat hook at the end gave me LIFE.

So, I just got my aerial hoop and can’t do as many tricks as I could on a taped one (my aerial hoop isn’t taped, the ones at my studio are) I can’t even hang in an invert for that long. What do you recommend?
I think that if you are a beginner/ intermediate, it is better to have taped hoop, the grip is better and it will help you to get more confident. Same if you want to do dynamic moves, tape is better to start with. I started with taped hoop too :)

You get abs, definitely and your legs are working too so they don't get smaller :)
