If Metallica wasn't so successful Lars would have destroyed the band! He has the band in a vice owning the rights to the name "Metallica" James wanted to take the band and start fresh without lars Greed! Lars to Metallica is what Gene Simons is to Kiss money first. I remember when Metallica supported File Sharing then Lars showed his true colors! Just like in this video! They would be better without him! Plenty of better drummers out there!

I didn't get kill em all...but ride the lightning up to "load" I can play. Lars was a beast...he def made music that sounded like he was listening to his band mates. This sounds like he's a whole bar behind and 1 beat. Believe me I took what I learned from Lars and ran with it and improved my craft.. got into terry bozzio before tools album aenima cane out. . Lars should've went to go play in a different band to get that itch filled. This is a prime example of why you see musicians go play a side project.... i absolutely hate the tin-can sounding snare drum with snare deactivated on this album. it's ridiculous. but i will say the only sessions i've ever walked out of is when they wanted "beats" written without a solid bass presence. nope

to be fair there was no bassline. the drums would work if the bass was emphasizing that) but instead they just clash with 2 guitars and vocals doing an obvious bass emphasis on 1 and 3 snare 2 4 line. what the guitars were doing was "stock." in 5 seconds you could do a simple "follow the guitar pattern of 1/8ths": b.sb.b.s. but i 10000% guarantee they'd say that's too boring because the guitar itself is uninspired
