Bob Mould - The Descent (live on Letterman)
Not exactly the best quality but I thought it was quite disappointing when the official video of the performance was put down, so... here it is! Enjoy!

Saw Bob this week on his solo electric tour in Carrboro, NC -- it was proper loud. He peeled the paint off the room.
Bob Mould is one of the louder concerts Ive been to. A great show.
Seen him a few times. Black Sheets of Rain was the loudest show I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot.
THIS IS TOO LOUD FOR YOU, TV AUDIO ENGINEER MAN
Cry little audio man, cry.
Mid 80s I was blown away by them, thanks for doing it again, Bob .
This man is so cool.
Goddamn
Still burning bright and not fading away
Not going gently into that good night!
I never really liked any "college music" or "alternative music" except Bob Mould.❤
Is it me, or is the audio sketchy? Great performance and energy🤘
yeah its fading in and out
Yeah, the original upload (which was taken down) had much better, punchier audio. (Not a dig at the uploader of this video; this is one of my favourite ever performances of any song, and I’m extremely grateful that I can watch it again.)
Awesome!!!
Saw this band on the Patch the Sky tour. Loudest night of my life. Glorious.
Wow! - like the byrds and the beatles fed through a 747 jet engine - whooosh! Love it!
That is a great description of this song! Bob Mould is an inspiration and a National Treasure!
ok, kids....this is the real deal....
10/10 performance of a 10/10 song
Shit like this brings tears to my eyes. Damn. No one better than Bob.
Couldn't agree more. Bob Mould is a treasure and his music has made my life better.
4 minutes of power and soul
This is amazing! I also love the fact that the bass player is 'avin it! Not just standing like a session musician.
Totally! Jason Narduci kicks ass. He and the drummer also play in Superchunk .
Bob Mould Kicks Ass. That is all.
I can only watch this a scazzillion times.
WOW
Bob and his band are rock heroes.
Even though I never cared much for Grant Hart, it always makes me kinda sad to see Bob Mould w/o the rest of the Huskers...
Why didn't you care much for Grant?
@@LB00146 cause bob mould's songs were much better
They should've made up, played a gig. Just think who would've been in the audience...
@@LB00146 - I actually like Grant's Husker songs a lot, but I just find the punk rock heroin addict to be a very boring thing. From Johnny Thunders to Dee Dee Ramone to Darby Crash to Sid Vicious, by 1980 it was DONE, nobody would do it like those guys again. Time for something new, but Grant not only stayed with dope, he kinda made it his identity, for decades after that. Boring.
@@DailyBrusher Yeah I get that. You have a point
Sounds great, just like a Bob Mould show! Loud!
Perfect energy Guitar sounds so raw like stormwaves And that vocals Love this
I love Bob Mould!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's depressing that Grant Hart isn't around anymore. It would be cool to see his reaction on Bob Mould on Letterman. I'm sure Grant would be in awe!
I said it then and I will say it today. Playing one of Letterman's final shows would have been the PERFECT Husker Du reunion. Two songs, one from Bob, one from Grant. Short, sweet and perfect.
Every now and then I need a reminder of Bob moulds greatness
Bob Mould kills it so hard
🤘🏻
Mould repaying a debt to '90s indie and absolutely melting faces in the process.
I think Bob came on Letterman once more after this taping to promote Silver Age and I'll never forget it. I wanna say they played Star Machine but I could be wrong. Anyway, after they completely killed it, deadpan Dave comes over and says "hey, try harder next time". I almost pissed myself laughing.
Hiroshi13 that was Conan.
my Name is Michael from Germany....bob mould....hüsker dü.... the only ones in my Life....
When middle aged men are rocking harder than the 20 something wannabes, you know the world's been put right.
Husker Du lives on .. awesome song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I remember watching letterman when they came on and was like "Holy shit!" I could just imagine the faces in the audience who weren't familiar with how much Bob Mould can rock.
I think even Paul and Dave were pleasantly surprised. But they had to of heard Bob's work with Sugar and Husker Du. They were pretty tuned in to that scene as it was happening.
Bob Mould is all that makes America great.
Yeah, a definite national treasure
Just amazing. Fills my heart with punk rock love!
Awww.... Dave didn't shake Jon's hand. :(
Hi, seven years ago! Dave has back and shoulder problems. You don't often see him reaching too far to shake hands because he might throw his back out, if I recall correctly. So not a lot of drummers got that unless they reached out for it.
"That's Rockn'Roll!", he says, not half wrong....
this is pretty much the best thing ever
Did the crowd know they would get their faces rocked off?
Thanks for uploading this, man!
Thanks for putting back up - just wish Bob would bring the flying V back.
Once you go Strat, you never go back.
He apparently still owns the old V but is happier with the Strat as his go-to axe. More reliable and the v is so emblematic of huskers...
