I have a 68 Coupe de ville and the 472 and TH400 are one of the greatest engines and transmissions ever made. I wouldn’t throw them away lol.

Hello, how is the restoration going? I have a 68 coupe Deville. I’m going to replace the heater core. Anything you learned along the way that I might run into or you would’ve done differently thank you.

I have a 66 deville but this gave me an idea as to what i should expect to pull mine out. I have rust holes in the rear driver side passenger compartment and surface rust everywhere else and including behind the dash so i might need to do that….

What size sheet metal do you use ?

Those 472s and 500s were hosses

I just bought a 1968 convertible and will be removing the dash board soon. I don't need to remove the whole dash, just the instrument cluster but this helps. Thanks for the video. Subscribed.

She's a beaut ! ..and it didn't even smoke when it first ran ..BONUS ! Nearly two years ago , I completed my 20th CJ restoration(only CJ's between '77-'86) ..all but three of them had the AMC 304 and only one of those inline6 engines had an automatic trans ..this is a perfect and EASY restoration candidate ..Excellent purchase .. and we'll be looking forward to seeing more videos on this classic survivor 😇❤

I was always told to use atf to lube valves. Never heard of using wd40. Great video. Getting old jeeps going that have sat for years is a fun project.

I use 2 stroke fuel available in most hardware stores to start old engines, pure gas and some oil to lube up the valves and rings. Looks like a neat project, could easily sink slot of money into it.

Looks great! My trunk has the same warp on the right side as well. Was able to straighten it a little bit with shoving a 2x4 on the other side and gently bending it back into place.

I think that switch at 13:10 is the manual release for the emergency brake

Cool video, awesome that the Wife is getting in on the help. The half circle connector under the steering column with the vacuum ports is the neutral safety switch.

That lever is to release the emergency brake, the vacuum switch on the column releases the parking brake automatically that lever is used when it doesn’t release from the vacuum line

What's the progress on the car ?

"Emergency mode" on your master window control panel will allow you to roll up or down any of the windows, individually, with the key off, or without the key even being in the ignition. Good luck with your resto!

That thing will start just beautifully with a little TLC, cleaned up,in and out with new rubber and rims it'll run like brand new one.

Hello, Thanks for presenting this series, it's really nice! My age is catching up with me so I might have missed something. What type/kind of spring compressor are you using? Yours sure seems easier to use. I missed how the spring compressor and coil spring locks into the frame as you were tightening the bolt on the compressor. These old Cadillacs are the ones we have a yard full of, one 1968, mostly 69's and 70's. I dread the upper A frame bushings every time because of having to deal with the springs.
