red for that pen dive these days
"proper football"??? FFS. After one "proper football" match two of my team mates ended up in hospital with hypothermia. 🫣
Looks like a poor place.
I remember going to Anfield around 1986 against Luton. The snow was that thick and heavy i missed one of the goals!
I love this comments section where men are real men not like tomorrows commentors on other videos!!! No gloves or even any clothes in sight either. What a time to moan like bitches about the state of the game....eeer I mean what a time to be alive!!!!!
No outfield players wearing gloves or tights. Proper football.
the soft players of today would complain about the conditions, the game would be off lol
They should've used a white ball, that might've evened up the game a bit!
Try checking out Man City vs Spurs, December 1967. This was proper ballet on ice, with City winning 4-1. Legends on both sides, many of them sadly passed away. We lost City legend Tony Book yesterday, a significant figure on and off the pitch who played in this match. This day in 1967 was the day I became a Blue. Respect to Liverpool legends in this video, what a brilliant team they were.
Everything's white. Just like i remember it.
That thumb nail pic looked like a four legged player on my little screen 😁
That dive for the pen was spectacular. I was a bit surprised to see that from 1979.
Liverpool won 4-1 dalglish 2 fairclough 1 mcdermott pen...
Olney for Bangor city
@jonesfamily4326 👍
Arteta would've held a demonstration against the ball
I was an amateur player in these days and playing in the snow was just normal to us. Have stopped watching Premier League games because of the attitude of the vast majority of the over-pampered players. I now am season-ticket holder of a League Two club, it's not perfect - but it's mostly honest.
Remember playing Rugby in PE at school, two sides were picked, and to differentiate between us the PE teacher would shout, "skins" which meant one team played in sometimes hail and rain without shirts. Imagine doing that today, the kids would refuse on the grounds of their Mental health or their parents would moan that their little angels would be traumatised for life.🙂
Smells a bit bullshitty to me!!!!
thats a right dive from terry mac😂
Brilliant….when football was a proper game, imagine the ‘superstars’ of today faces confronted with those conditions
I remember playing in PE in the snow. My boots probably cost 2 quid and were made of plastic. I just remember having soaking socks. But we loved it.
No leg warmers or tights to be seen
Climate change!😁
Imagine today's footballers playing on that pitch with that ball while wearing those boots.
Can you imagine now days condition like this. Health and safety the big girls overpaid tosspots wouldn't want to catch a cold. It's a joke today fairy's
I grew up in these times, players back in the day weren't so pampered and egotistical, they played in any conditions, snow, rain , ice , freezing fog,..and pitches resembling a paddy fields rather than a football pitch,....and when tough hard tackling was part of the game,....loved these simpler times , ...yes it was perfect, but it was the imperfections that gave it it's charm and appeal that made me love the game,...modern football , doesn't appeal to me as much, it just doesn't have that rough edged charm of years ago , which made it so great to watch,....miss those times
no choice but to play if match wasn't postponed, nothing to do with ego...any footballer prefers a decent pitch to a ploughed field or an ice rink...
@mrrockerjim yeah but footballers are spoilt and pampered today,... You get a bit of cooler weather, and they've all got gloves on ,...you never saw players wth gloves on back in the day , even with 3 inches of snow on the pitch !!...players were harder and if any did ware gloves , they would have seen that as showing weakness
I was their aged 8. First Lfc game I ever saw.
And to think that there was much doubt about Liverpool v Manchester United being called off last Sunday For a bit of snow, the pitch was heated too but apparently it was the pavement around the stadium
That game today would have been called off grate days snow with the orange ball
Joy Division played Bangor same year.
What was the score?😃
Bangor we’re torn apart again
@@ianclarke1852 Was there an Atmosphere?
@ I believe there was but no reports of disorder
@@ianclarke1852 proper comment!
When real men played football.
Maybe today’s men would be real men, if they were allowed to play in snow, by real coaches and real groundsmen . Get real ? 😅⛄️
The Namby Pamby players today wouldn't even bother to get out of bed never mind play a football match.
Football in the snow is brilliant
Fantastic
This was the time when men were men & players just got on with it & would play on in any conditions ...unlike today's pampered stars
Aye lad. Real men, real fans and real grounds
real permed hair and real little shorts!
Today’s players wouldn’t be allowed, so maybe it’s the groundsmen and coaches who have got weaker ?.😂
Lucky if you made the station without meeting the ambush though lols
Why such a small crowd?
it was cold , footballers are too stupid to feel cold back then... they ate wood too
In those days you supported a team from where you came from.
Or may thought game may be postponed due to weather, was this a testimonial or just friendly? Just checked, was very short notice friendly explains small turnout as well as weather, nothing to do with supporting where you come from.
This was before the Norwegians
@@Evertonian1968 I was going to put something similar. UTFT
Proper football.
Wow this is old school Football. Unplayable Pitch, Open Terrace, and a Little Fat Referee. Happy Days!
Association Football, you know, hmmm isn't it? Marvellous.
Your voice is spectacular!

Fab 👍❤️
Brilliant,
Congrats! He really is such a kind person!
Beautiful STORRY, knock their socks off!
my kings and queens🙏
This is episode 585, not 595 🙂
It is sad and bittersweet he seem a little withdrawn and skinny but still able to keep up with the conversation. He was sharp to the end old john
Jon was talking about October, by which time he would've been dead for 5 months! 😭
Charles Roberts the Bangor City Chairman organised the match directly with Bob Paisley
Damn, he looks so healthy only to die 18 days later.
Very cool
