I remember that version of Sears Point from NR4 when I was younger. As much as NR2003 is GOATed, I LOVED that game and NR2002 to the core and when I modded the missing drivers into both games along with the missing Chicagoland and Kansas in NR4, I LOVED it even more as it was almost the entirety of real life 2001 and 2002 Also good to see a Robby Gordon appearance which you did tease to me on Instagram and we finally get to see Nigel in the 3rd Yates car! And FYI, my father subscribed to you today as the man just retired yesterday on Halloween!

Very cool to see in nr2003, not many people remember that the roval was used before nascar did, IMSA GTP raced there in the 80s and in 2000 the American Le Mans Series (successer to IMSA GT) raced there. Some great cars raced there back in the day

I was wondering where the Version of the Roval with Winston Cup Logos came from but at least I know why now! Mark Leiffer is a genius! 2:07 Also it should be the *UAW-GM Quality Roval 500* based on the time period in real life. Nonetheless good video Kai! I like the fictional 3rd Andy Petree Car which leads me to say: After you finish 1999 in the Career Mode and get to 2000, that should be your actual ride. It’s only a suggestion but it would be perfect for the story and actually make sense! Think about it! Hope we see more One-Off Videos in the future!

I'm glad the Roval wasn't around in 2000. Road course racing in NASCAR (Cup Series) is boring. The finishes only seem "exciting" cause NASCAR throws it's WWE green white checker card out to appease the modern fan.

EDIT: New camera angles as a channel upgrade? If so, how did you get that whole ass angle for certain portions of the race that took place in real time such as the start and pit stops? Tough break with the caution immediately after the pit stops even though at the same time it could’ve been a helluva lot worse! You still managed to salvage something really good! Keep digging Kai! Will you also be doing 2000 once 1999 is done even though that’s a LONG ass way from now?

But it was... Kinda... But we did call the Rrr.... ( in scooby voice) RORVALLALWWOEW ( Roval... god that's a stupidass name...) Back then we called them IN-FIELD ROAD COURSES!! OR HYBRID OVAL-ROAD COURSES DOES NOBODY CALL THEM THAT ANYMORE?!!?!?

Charlotte road course has been around since the 1970's, but obviously NASCAR had never used it. They're currently building a new road course outside the track across the street for club racing, looking forward to trying it out!

this wouldn't even be that impossible because of the left right division became more prominent in the 80s. They did testing out the Roval meaning if it worked out better, we could've had Roval as soon as in the 90s.

Glad you like the track! The 1986 IMSA GTP race at Charlotte was my primary reference when I was doing this edit, it was interesting to see a less built up version of the roval with more grass and everything. Thought it was funny to combine basic 90s style track work with a modern gimmick-type idea, falls somewhere between a fever dream and an EA Sports fantasy track.

This 2003 Busch Series Mod would be a perfect combination with the 2003 Base Game Winston Cup Carset + a few missing drivers and paint schemes from that season added to it. That would definitely be the game truly living up to it’s title in terms of the year in the title that it was originally based on
