You are absolutely correct about certain channels making saws look better than others . Also the comments you made on the video with the oem 272 you got about these channels popping up and Guys porting saws for a few years if that and now they are EXPERTS charging silly money to tinker with other people's saws . Guys who have never ran a saw 5 days a week for 8 hrs a day trying to tell people what oil etc to use ...sick of it . And now I don't watch any of there bull content
Still loving my 466!!
You were right on, The 372xp ran about 3 seconds faster . Your putting out some very nice saws Scott 👍🏻👍🏻
I can't wait to be getting me that 372! 💯 Already ordered my 660 can't wait for that thing to get here! 💯
Husqvarna used two different length of screws on the handle bars of the 346 and 357 saws and the others in that family. 2 short ones on the front bottom and 2 long ones on the tank side same long one is also used on the cylinder isolation spring, so I guess 3 long ones on the side they came that way oem from the factory. People mix them up all the time and yes I have seen lots of ruined saws with holes poked through the bottom crankcases over the years, if they had used all the same length of screws to start with would have saved everyone the confusion lol. Just letting you know if you already figured it out then never mind I'll go back to minding my business.
I love watching your videos cheers Kevin down under Australia
The g366 I received yesterday I was able to put my long torx bit on the cylinder botls and unscrew with my finger tips. No where near 10 Newtown meters. Torque wrenches are cheap! If you work on your own or other peoples saws you should definitely be using a torque wrench. (Hahaha I just tried typing torque wrench and my phone autocorrected me. It said xtorq! 😂) Bare minimum torque wrench on the case bolts and cylinder to case bolts.
That's a shame farmer tec won't work with you when you are the face of their product. ( only one case half ) instead of 2. It is a shame they could pull stuff like that and get away with it. Thanks for the videos.
Mine won't hold a tune. It leans out during the 2nd tank every time.
@@nicholascooper1193 I've had a lot of issues with those hlic carbs to the point where I won't even Jack with them on a 372. Again, I love them on the 440s and 660s, just not the 372. I've had it where it loses tune. It'll run great and then all the sudden weird tuning issues. I've had it where you can't lean them out to get over 10 or $11,000 RPMs. I've spent more time than I care to admit jacking with them and I'm done. Until I see pure success with those for an extended period of time, not one lucky one out of 100. Not one month of them being okay. After a year of all good feedback then I'll look at them again. I'm done.
@@bulletproofsaws I ordered a Walbro for mine this week. Hopefully it fixes this saw. If not, I'm going to get another "real" Husky and keep the blue saw as a project.
I bought a neotech, a farm mac, and a gthan from amazon. They all smells like gas and had oil coming out of the oiler. They're all pre-run.
@@despraterado588 which makes the missing parts and problems even more frustrating.. the China run is about useless
@bulletproofsaws none of mine have any missing parts, and I doubt you're putting a bushing on the chain tensioners.
@bulletproofsaws and it's been a few minutes since I watched the video, but I'm pretty sure you said yourself that you were lucky to catch this one
@despraterado588 we pre run them all. It catches a lot.. some obvious, some not.. but really it's our minimum level of checks.. done only because the manufacturers can live with a far higher fail rate then we can. I'll do a video on it as it's deeper than you might realize...
@@despraterado588 I really don't know what you mean . Pre flighted/custom 660s get bushing. Pre runs do not although maybe that should be added..
So excessive oil in the exhaust often means air leak? That's good to know.
Love the 660

I just got a G660 with a 25" bar. It seems to oil the chain a bit too much making a mess. Thanks for showing how to adjust the flow. I'd never have guessed that the adjustment screw only turns 1/4 of a turn, so it was good to hear that's how it works. Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge with us. 👍
272 that I own and rebuilt and ported and piped is the best starting and running saw I own. 2 pulls and its running and torque up the wazzu.
Glad you figured it out.

I pop the clutch with my 3/8 Milwaukee, that's not the stubby, and reinstall by hand. Your ability to keep conversation with no one present while filming is an art.
Hi Scott, the hole in the boot because it was mainly round and not a tear, appeared to act more like a large controlled leak than when a boot is cracked. The rpm's may vary more depending on how the crack opens and closed with vibration vs a consistent hole opening. I have used 3 bond with great success sealing up the pto side bushings in various makes and models of saws.
@@wayneanderson991 appreciate another vote for the three Bond. Yeah it was kind of odd and maybe it's how it sat that it was a controlled leak. Somewhat really interesting. But again I also overcompensated tuning without realizing it. So that was kind of my fault
👍
Weird suggestion if you don't like your back to the camera: Put a mirror on the wall. Even an old car or truck mirror with the ball mount on the back so you can angle it. You can just look up and make eye contact with the camera. It'll save your neck. If you can score it, the old school bus rear view mirrors with the bracket are perfect.

Hi Scott, unless the fuel filter is not picking up fuel properly I would put money on the pto side crank seal based on the way you rotated the saw and it went lean. Quick and dirty, I spray a little brake cleaner around the pto seal, flywheel seal and around cylinder base, if you have an air leak the saw will die when the brake cleaner is sprayed into those points. Then you can do a pressure and leak down test to confirm exact location if needed. On a few occasions I have found the cylinder bolts a little looser than I would like on those G444's and G466's. This will sometimes cause the base gasket to blow out over time with the paper gaskets they come assembled with.
@@wayneanderson991 appreciate that Wayne.. I occasionally spray brake or carb cleaner in a pinch, but with a customer saw I generally won't .. I go to leak down quick as 9 times outta 10 I'll be going there regardless.. figured it out.. WASN'T what we both thought.. will upload the video tonight if I can... Side note, this looks to have the viton seals.. with all the caveats applied to that statement..lol
Hey Scott , thanks for going through the extra effort to show us !! At first i thought you were going to throw that saw off the the mountain ! It took awhile to show itself. It isnt going to get better on its own either. Customer service goes hand in hand with customer satisfaction. A seized piston from going lean isnt going to go over well. Happy customer means repeat business. Air leak around clutch side seals. Thanks for the videos.

How do these Italy tech cylinders port? Do they tend to chip like some of the others do?
@@loweralabamahomesteading4661 it depends a lot on your tooling.. they can and will chip, but with sharp tooling and technique they are very workable..
Do the orange one's come with wallbro carbs on or only the pro
@@JamesOneill-x5i I thought I mentioned it in the video, but all of ours are coming with wahlbros. It. It won't run right. Some folks think you could get those hlic's to run but in my experience they don't run for very long if they run, and they never run at full potential. But a lot of inexperience guys might but not be able to tell the difference
Sorry I thought you put the wallbro on them yourself one guy told me only the pro comes with the wallbro and I dont like the carban fiber look
@JamesOneill-x5i oh no, you are correct. I must have misunderstood. The only saws that come with wahlbros are the pros or saws you get from blue saws. And really I don't blame anybody for not listening to anything I say because I talk way too much
I'll order the orange one if it has the wallbro carb

That thing is ripping can't wait to purchase a couple
Bought a g466 from u guys I absolutely love it!now only 3 tanks of gas but w have nasty weather here.ok i did swap out chain tensioner and just for a little insight anyone ever have their bars not tightened up enough? I noticed mine would not. What I did is change out the bar studs with oem.13 bucks the middle nubs are way thinner allowing your cover to really snug down on bar now it has 0 play.less force on the tensioner too on undercutting. Just some of my experience 👍🏼
@@ericplatt3390 really appreciate you being a customer. That's what supports this whole thing with TH-cam. Not that we have real high production costs on the vids..lol.. but supporting folks who give back to the community rather than a random ama$on reseller helps everyone..that thing with your bar studs is real odd.. it sounds like a mismatched clutch cover to bar studs.. there's 2 types and if the cover needed the recess it makes sense... Still odd.. glad you got it sorted and thanks for the support..
@ oh also on a side note my saw came with a dual port stainless muffler with screens which is a added bonus IMO
Looks more inline with the husqvarna version, the 580 as far as the plastics go. The 8500/580 is a tried and true platform. Not surprised it's being cloned now especially being a zenoah product.
@@benjaminleslie3155 I should update a video on this. Farmer tech gives us such a hassle to sell these that we get frustrated with it. The product is good though. I've used it three times this Winter just to blow snow off of a thousand-ft driveway. It works tremendous. I think I've been abusing it for the last few years and it's been Rock solid. I just wish farmer tech could get their act together with their dealers.
@bulletproofsaws I am curious what differences there are between this and the oem version. Especially the carburetor. I'm not sure but I've heard it's not the same as what's used in the genuine husqvarna/redmax blower.
@benjaminleslie3155 I think that was in one of the comments on one of my videos. It was one fella. And what I think is going on. I don't know if that fell is right or wrong, I'll assume he's right. Anybody's ripping into these cuz they're not having the problems. So if you bought one to 100% use it as a parts machine for your OEM saw, maybe that's not going to work.
I have a stihl 462c at the moment, is there a huge difference between that and the 661... subscribed great video
You and I should talk off line sometimes ill try to find you can call you. I was really impressed being AT farmertec and meeting Manny and seeing their testing rooms or labs.....but theyre not taking these issues seriously.
Bellcrank?
👍
Just put some bushings in stock search shim or bushing...
IMHO Farmertec has changed the crank seals for a reason, I'm sure I was not the only one having issues with the older brown/redish colored rubber seals or they would not be changing the rubber compound or the manufacture/supplier they were using. Hopefully the cranks seal issue is a thing of the past with their new offerings. Farmertec does seem to be making product improvements based on customer feedback.
@@wayneanderson991 really appreciate all that. Wayne. And you raise a good point. Why change it if it's working? The funny thing though, and I don't have my head wrapped around this is they also have pro versions of some of the parts like bearings, crank, bearings. I've ordered both the old version and the new version which is a little bit more expensive. I can't see how they're different. On these seals. I could see it's a darker different rubber. Not saying it's better. Don't know yet. But on the bearing that I looked at and I don't think I checked every single product. I checked one and was like huh. I can't really tell the difference. And that's what always worries me is I'm suspicious of China. Sometimes I'm suspicious where I have no business being suspicious. Sometimes the suspicion's Right on.. not a dull moment in this. Although I imagine discussing seals is pretty dull for most folks
And I probably wasn't clear about one thing there. I think they sometimes change things to charge us more. That's me being really negative and not right. Those bearings had me thinking that. But I do see the seals look a little different. And they weren't much more. We're talking, pennies or dollars. Not much either way.
I'd be curious to know what level of mix he is running. Is it non-eth? Is it premium with eth? 50, 40, 32? Is it an oil mix that has a higher detergent content? And how much unloaded high revs has the saw experienced? And is it possibly an installation technique causing the failures? I know these are some wild questions, but if I complain about something, I'm not gonna to give opportunity for anyone to make a fool of me by asking a question that I haven't already asked myself.
@@benjineeringtoday8233 You raise the perfect points. He comments on the post so I'm sure he'll be here and I don't want to misquote people and I feel a little bit shy about even mentioning things sometimes. Because I don't want to misrepresent, make a mistake in what I'm saying. Seven sets of seals within a year. I think it was on seven different New farmer tech saws. But again I can't remember what I did 2 hours ago. So don't base anything on my memory. But it does make you wonder if there's something going on or if it was something in his procedure. Bad fuel. Something odd. My gut feeling is if all the saws were having seals fail in a year I'd be hearing a lot more complaints. Actually I'd be hearing complaints cuz I rarely have a complaint on seals. I'm not even sure if I've had one this whole year. And that's a lot of saws.
@@bulletproofsaws The crank seal failures were on saws purchased as built saws(factory installed seals) from Farmertec from early 2020 thru 2022, both Husqvarn and Stihl clone variants. Fuel and oil used at that time was Echo Red Armor at 40:1 mixed in 100LL Av gas or a 50/50 mix of Av gas and premium 91 octane non-ethanol fuel. I always let my saws warm up before putting them to work . I have not had any issues with the Hyway seals I used to replace the brown/redish seals that came on the saws from Farmertec. All I can say is the Farmertec seals from that time period that came out of the saws were a little hard and worn to the point that you could start to see the spring imprint on the inner rubber seal lip. I'm the type of person that uses what I know works (Hyway crank seals) if a problem comes my way, so I have not tried any of the new offerings from Farmertec as far as crank seals are concerned.
I put an oem tensioner on my f660 v and it was way worse than the Chinese tensioner. It loosens real smooth but would not tighten at all. Any suggestions?
Is that your own clutch cover?
Do they have limiter on the carbs
