The new bills are great looking and have interesting, eminent people on them. It's great to see women on money. It's been a real struggle trying to get Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill, and i think it may never happen. I still have a ¥2000 note that was issued in commemoration of the last time Japan hosted the G8. The US will never have interesting money...

i also heard the ramen vending machiens dont take the new bills

I like the new 1,000 one a lot. I agree that I don't like the fonts on any of the new ones though, but the great wave on the back is really cool. I wonder what made they change their bank notes...

japan's currency is the loser of all loser. losing money for every currency printed while supporting a country that might want to do harm to them. WAY TO GO, JAPAn. 2 to 1 incoming!

I really like the historical content. Talking not only about how it has changed but there was significance of the people who were on the notes. It adds a little understanding of why these people are important.

One of my favorite things to do in Japan is to visit temples and shrines to take in the silence and beauty.

Hopefully I'll be able to bring my friend.😊😊 Weekday food suggestions Monday something with a fried egg Tuesday something you would eat with pickled ginger or maybe shichimi for "fire" Wednesday something with broth or fish Thursday something grown on trees Friday some bars have drinks with gold flecks, maybe they could make a non-alcoholic one for you Saturday something that is grown in the dirt, maybe vegetables? Sunday something like sunflower seeds or anything yellow

I enjoyed the drive, it gave me a chance to see different things you don't see on trains. I love visiting Japan because i don't have to drive. There's really no viable transit in Texas although they've been working with JR Central on a possible bullet train from Dallas to Houston. Not sure it will ever be built, but I'll ride it if it comes.

Hey William, thanks for this video! I have a ¥2000 bill somewhere. They were first issued on July 19, 2000, to commemorate the 26th G8 Summit and the millennium. My favorite coin is the ¥5. I like the hole, the color and the fact that it's considered lucky. I usually drop at least one (along with a little more) in the donation box at temples/shrines. I need to come back to Japan after the Expo is over.

Great to see none of it has changed.
