Kia Sorento 2021 - 2022 MQ4 DIY side steps Fitting / Running Board Installation. Not the best video but i hope it helps someone. Please off the sound as my of my old camera giving out scratchy noise.
Question mate, (Looks greta Btw) your "spoiler" appears larger / longer... is that custom or aftermarket, if so, could you point me in that direction? Thanks
How are they holding up? Any rust at all?
I know that stinger brembos fit in the front but did you put caliper covers in the rear?
Hi, what exactly is the trim model of your 2021 kia sorento? Because my wife and I are looking for a nice but sporty midsize suv and I loved how this kia looks.
Can u do a full lock to lock turn without rubbing. I was going to go with 265/35 22 but this looks way better
Wheel spacers makes a big different on the look. Looks really nice and the 20's are a perfect size for this car.
Thanks
My problem is I cannot find any in South Africa??
You can buy it from ebay. They ship from China or Taiwan
Hello, Do these running boards also fit hybrid?
Not 100% sure. I believe it does fit
I have the same car and 22 inch rims what’s the best tires size ?
265/35/22 would be more suitable. This size diameter is bigger, and thus a a bit of rubbing when reversing
Does the steering shakes while driving with this tires size ?
No, it doesn't shakes. Feels the same with the standard wheels
What kind of brake calipers are those?
What was the offset of the wheels?
@bryanlangley9687 it's +40
Does anyone know whats the part number of side steps?
Excellent video. Thanks
22x9?
22 x 8.5
Hi Calvin - What brand & model rims are these? Love them on the Sorento!
These were taken from Infiniti QX70.
hi, is your setup causing problems with abs, sensor and transmission. THANKS
No problems with abs, sensor, I was a bit worried about the transmission so I am back to the original 20 inch
SO you don't recommend?
@@abekank8625 If you dare to take the risk, it definitely recommended. But it will void your warranty as the overall diameter is bigger than the standard diameter. So if you transmission fails, they may argue that it caused by the bigger diameter and non-standard fitment
What wheels are these? Looks sick man!
Thanks, these are Lorenzo wl032 wheels. They are 22 x 8.5
Did you have to do any modification with suspension to fit such big wheels?
Nope, I didn't do any modification to the suspension
Did you have to trim any where?
No I didn't. Just have to becareful when making a full turn. My advise is to get a more narrow tires 265/40/22 or thinner profile 265/35/22 to be safe
it definitely has a ghetto look. if you see something like this while you're house-hunting hit a u turn!
Thanks
Where can you order 1 of these? Is the running boards alone what gives this the MQ4 distinction?
www.ebay.com.au/itm/225163193321 www.ebay.com.au/itm/402632507557 You can get it from ebay. Can save a couple of hundred than going through dealer
@@calvintan5113 awesome sir. Thank You.
those infiniti wheels look sweeeeeeeet on this
Thank you
@@calvintan5113 welcome. Were they a direct fit?
@@thecynicalafro160 No, the centre bore had to be increased by 1mm
Nice..what model roof rack carrier is that?
It's Prorack aero through bar. Some countries it's called Yakima. www.prorack.com.au/aero-through-bar-silver-119-cm-single
Bro that looks real good! Thanks for sharing! I bet it still rides good too.. I really wanted 22s on my sportage but didn't want to sacrifice the ride with skinny sidewalls.
Thanks mate. 22s will look too big for Sportage. The ride is still good. Have to be really careful with these
@@calvintan5113 absolutely agreed.. It's a lease so maybe when I turn it in I will get a sorrento so I can step up to 22s. Looks super sauced. A1! God bless you!
Looks great! Where did you get them?
Got them 2nd hand from facebook marketplace. They are called Inovit Rotor
why do people put those running boards on Sorento's it looks dumb.
Love those wheels. Manufacturer and model please?
XO Luxury - Milan
unless you have like a 4 inch lift kit these are usless
It's more for my kids. They find it much easier to get up with the side steps
One last question I am getting 22x8.5 vossens will a offset of 35+be the best offset what is your opinion
That should be fine. I had a set previously with +35 offset, 22x8.5 with 265/35/22 tyres. They still have a bit of space when turning to the max
@@calvintan5113 do you think a 38 would look better
@@ruger041168 I think higher offset will be better but it doesn't makes much difference with 3mm. I use 1010tires.com - Wheel Offset Calculator to do my offset checking. It's very helpful in making a decision
@@calvintan5113 ok so they can't make a 8.5 so have to 22x9 do you think 44 offset would work with that it sits about the same as the oem wheel that has a 54 offset
@@ruger041168 That's same width as mine but my offset is +35. Go for 265 or 275/35/22 tyres. If you go for 40/22 profile, high possibility it will rub when you turn
hey love the wheels i am looking to get 22 inch x9 for my kia sorento sx xline prestige what wheel size would you recommend to not rub
You can go with 22 x 9 and tires should be 265/35/22. I went a bit bigger with the tires and therefore had some rubbing when turning to max
Hi, Any plan to change to BBK?
What is BBK?
Is this aftermarket window tint?
Yes, it is aftermarket window tint
Also, what trim is it?? I know it's no base model but they have so many it hard to distinguish them a bit
The is the Sports trim. A model above the base.
Hey Cal, what color is that on the truck? I know Kia provides 3 diferente shades of grey, just wondering which one your's is.. it gorgeous btw, good call on the wheel upgrade.. very clean
Thanks mate. It's called steal grey in Australia. Love this colour as it easy to maintain. The wheels were a bit difficult to clean as too many spokes
Is it still comfy when you full load the car with passengers and things?
It's still alright and quite. Just a little less comfy as in going over bumps. On the highways, they are still comfy
@@calvintan5113 thanks for the answer dude, i was about to buy sorento and upgrade the velg, but the thing hasn’t released yet in my country 😂
@@pileofbeeries4918 All the best. it's a good car. you won't regret it
What parameters of wheels, 112,5, et? Resin I see,
114.3 x 5. ET +35
Looks awesome. Any rubbing on a full turn?
No rubbing at all. Still have a bit of space on a full turn
What's the offset?
The offset for this is +50
Do u wanna sell the oem 20 inch wheels?
Sorry, I have already sold the 20 inch. I believe you can still find them in fb marketplace or the wheel shops
That model had the original 18 inch wheels?
Yeah, the originals were 18 inch
Can they hold weight or just cosmetic?
Yes, it can hold my weight. If not mistaken, can hold max weight 150kg
Calvin bro this looks saucy! Hey i need some input or opinion from you buddy. I have a 2022 sportage and put 20x9s with a 245 40 series. But I'm now putting those on my wifeys sportage and I'm getting different wheels. But I was thinking of 22s. Not finding much feedback from anyone if they ould fit or not.? What do you think man? With 255 40 22 tires. The rims are 22x8.5 with a +38 offset. Could. Run any tire size if need be.
Hey Jared, I think 255 40 22 might be just nice but possibility of slight rubbing when you turn to the max. It will make the overall diameter about 50mm bigger or the radius 25mm bigger. So when you turn to the max, you might have a slight rubbing. For my sorento with 275 40 22 setup, I am having a bit of rubbing when I turn to the max. My rims are 22x9 with +35 offset. Go to 1010tires website and do some tyre size calculation. Turn your current 20" to the max and see how much of space left to the fenders. If it's less than 25mm, better go with 255 35 22 or 265 35 22
@@calvintan5113 good morning! Yes your absolutely right. I talked to a place lutnin new York and the dude said i can't fo over a 35 offset and tire needs to be a 245 30 22.. I was like whoooaa.. That's gonna be 2 skinny for me.. So I'm gonna stick with 20s. Really enjoy seeing your sorrento updates. Man those 22s look so good. Appreciate your feedback! Subscribe to me so you can see the sportage changes if you want! Your awesome buddy! Have a great day!
@@jaredshowers1 All the best. I have subscribed. Can wait to see your new set of wheels on your sportage. It's gonna look fantastic
It looks really nice! Where did you get those roof rails? Could you share the link, pls?
It's Prorack Whisper Bar iif you're in Australia. Worldwide, the brand is called Yakima. You can google Yakima or Prorack whisper bar and it should give you more details
Looks great bro. Have you noticed a significant difference in MPG?
I didn't really measure. I think there might be a slight increase

@@jessejair6174 There are more options for 22s. Choices for 21s in 5x114.3 studs are limited or quite expensive. Go for 22x8.5 with 265/40/22 tires
@@calvintan5113 I appreciate the back and forth was looking at 24s cause the the tire was thinner is 22x8.5 with 265/40/22 what you have in this video ?
@@jessejair6174 This video is on 22x9 with 275/40/22 , offset is +35. It's a bit to wide and slightly poking out. If you get 8.5, then the wheel will nicely sit inside the fender. Otherwise, if you get 9" wide, the offset should be at least +45
I need these on my 2021 Kia Sorento 😃
Go for it. Try 22" if you have a chance
I'll be ordering these for my sorento soon. Gonna get Springs for it to give it a 30mm lift all around.
Cool, makes it easier to get up the car
