if you run -130 res conviction, it negates mephs aura - the numbers might have to be looked up, but if you have a higher level aura it cancels out the other

CoH just gives more Res for safety and shield wise HoZ is a great pick but I personally like an eth Exile in a nice eth pally shield or an Eth Hoz with a Zod in it

I'm out from D2 for some time now but you might consider getting a bugged exile in an ethereal vortex and a fortitude as armor unless you need the coh stats.

there are many options that work. eth vortex exile, zak, coh, forti, dracs, 20 ias cb gloves, verdungo, highlord, mara, last wish, grief, raven, bk, soj, goblin, gores... essentially what you want is at least one source of life tab and cb at 100% or close to it. i also have a treachery in stash to prebuff fade and speed up the process with lw and treach combined. go through the harrogath gate and stand in the fire at the beginning of the act or go to a4 river waypoint and a little to the right is another good spot to stand in flames, get dmg and wait for the proc.

why not go for Exile, rather than Zaka. Even without the Eth Bug it's still a better option imo. Also CoA is also better than G-Face imo.

When i used to play d2, this was before ressurected. I never bothered with running for keys, i hardly ever did the tower unless i needed low runes, i never ran the summoner and i killed nihlathak a few times but never because of the keys. I ran, travi with a barb, the pit, cows, wsk, diablo, shenk, eldritch, pindle, mostly with a sorc. The pit sometimes with a psn nova necro. I traded nonstop, whatever i found really and i often asked for roughly the going price + a key, a key set werent that expensive either at least when i played. I played a frenzy barb for ubers. I also sold uber clears, meaning i would get the organs and kill ubers in the same game for them, if they gave me the keys + whatever the price was for an uber clear at the time. This price varied a lot, early ladder they payed a lot for it, late ladder it was like a mal to an ist. I varied between selling identified and unidentified torches, unidentified were easy to sell early on in the ladder but you could miss out on high rolled pala or sorc torches. Late in the ladder it was hard to sell unident, but impossible to sell torches for the wrong class. Gear: Draculs, Arreats, Gores, Highlords, Raven, Verdungo, Grief, + whatever you fancied for off hand weapon, 1 ring and chest. You could run lastwish in offhand and change out draculs but that is expensive. I usually just used a doom or a beast in offhand, of course you can run a death, or botd or whatever really. Just have to keep track of the reach of the weapons so you dont end up in a position where you are only swinging with your offhand, that is a recipe for disaster. Have fun with whatever you want to play.

bro ditch the zakarum shield. buy eth vortex shield with 40/45 all rez and make exile in it. your damage will 30% up + it gives life tap as draculas cheap runeword

Get exile and then switch dracs up and boom then you dont have to worry about life tap % from dracs

I don't remember what makes the build tick, but my smiter had an eth vortex exile, crown of ages w/ 2 socketed ber, a last wish, and dual leech 20as 10crushing blow blood crafted gloves. I know it was higher end, but of all of that I don't remember what gave me the extra life steal to trivialize farming ubers.

tbh i prefare using goreriders and a higlords wrath , high end would be an exile in an aeth 45alres schield for the missing res smalcharms the maras is a very expensiv toy that is not optimal but well done good sir. my gnarlyes kill was with a smoke armor some goblintoes and a lifetap wand and some flail with black XD that was real fun.

for uber bosses shop a life tap wand from a vendor. after you open ports you can have it in cube and swap it off with CTA after prebuff. that way you dont have to spam rejuvs waiting for dracs to proc

You can use vigor and charge to move faster. Charge dont need to target enemies. To get more chance to life tap change zaka on exile, or just upgrade zakarum to elite and be ready to use reju potion : P
