    Rule #1: Don't get in a knife fight. Rule #2: If that fails, escape as fast as you can. Rule #3: If that fails also, grab a weapon if you have to defend. Rule #4. If that also fails, be more aggressive than your attacker and use front kicks like a shotgun to his mid section and head until he goes down or backs off. It will be hard for him to grab a front kick with one arm and hard to reach your areas of highest vulnerability because his arms are shorter than your legs. Better to be slashed in the feet or legs than anywhere else. Get help. Go to the hospital as soon as you can.

    Hello, I'm sorry if I disturb you, I'm an Italian guy and here in the city where I live, stabbings are frequent, I saw people doing brazialin jiujitsu or similar sports being stabbed in the back by the attacker's friends while they were fighting on the ground . can kickboxing be considered a valid sport for the defense against the knife? I personally would not feel safe fighting with a person on the ground knowing that there are other armed ones around me. usually here in my country when a fight starts there are always 10 or 15 people.

      I have 30 videos on this channel. Check them ou. We use striking as our first knife defense. Watch this video. We use kickboxing mechanics but we are targeting vital points such as the eyes, solar plexus and ankles. When all else fails we have to capture the attackers arm and throw him or destroy him on the ground before his friends join in. But you will see on my other videos that we don't go to the ground as a stratagy. We throw him to the ground and kick him while standing so we can deal with multiple opponents. th-cam.com/video/tU174XEoktA/w-d-xo.html

    Any realistic self defense (SD) training primarily has to deal with the minimum basic facts of SD and do so in a reasonable time frame. The minimum basIc facts are - SD situations are involuntary. There is always one unwilling participant, otherwise it is not SD. - SD situations are unfair (big on small, young on old, man on woman, multiple on one, ambushes) - No one rings a bell. SD situations begin wihen one person attacks another either from an escalation or with no warning. Usually, it is the bad guy who attacks first (this is the "inital entry") - The person who goes first will usually win unless he screws up (is nervous, overly anxious, physically unskilled). Funnily enough, however, any watching of video clips of SD situations shows that a surprising number of inital attacks are not great an do not finish off the person who is attacked, so you can possibly survive and counterattack after such an attack - SD fights take place in cluttered, slippery, dangerous environments - the law. Know the law related to SD in your jurisdiction. What this all means is that the main thing is to train for in SD is UNFAIR situations and how you would respond to them. In general, this means we should learn - To avoid SD situations or recognize escalations and problems early. - How and when to go first to get it over with - How to cover up and then counterattack effectively when you have been lucky enough to survive an initial attack - How to stand up from the ground while protecting head and neck, and counterattacking - What the law says Minimum training? Get strong. Get strong in hands, wrists and forearms. Learn to hit while keeping your shoulders up around your ears. Learn to move at all times. Be aggressive. This is the bare minimum. The next step in a trainng program is to add close quarters tripping, pushing, pulling, throwing, dragging, elbows, knees and dealing with clothing - WHILE ALWAYS PROTECTING PRIMARILY THE HEAD AND NECK AND (SECONDARILY) THE WAIST.

And we don't type critiques like you do without any video qualifications to show proof of concept. People like you who only type about fighting skills will never show us a video of yourself going live against the blade. But we'll wait for it anyway since it only takes you 15 seconds. With respect I'm telling you that this wont work with a guy wanting to kill you. You can't just do striking techniques with an opponent having a knife. If you dont manage to control the hand with the knife you die.

    • @georgevranos8618
      @georgevranos8618 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for your comment. You make an important point. Eventually we "may" have to control the hand and knife with an attacker. "MAY" I say MAY, because It's not easy to get close to a person with footwork who can BOX & punch you on the way in or kick out your lower leg. This is a small man's Combatives System and I'm only 140 bs. (pre holiday weight lol ) . So why would I engage in an ugly struggle with a much larger & stronger opponent when I can just strike him from the outside first. ? We use the same strategy as most cage fighters. Distance & Striking first. We maintain a safe distance protecting our vital organs while striking and assessing the opponents reactions to being hit. If he can't check a low kick we destroy the leg. If he can't block a punch we strike his face. We want him knocked out, blinded, weakened, or discouraged from re- attacking first. Strategy wins fights. Watch the video in slow motion and see how many times I flash his eyes, destroy the arm with the knife, and smash his lower shin. This is not choreographed. I did not know Andy would change hands or which grip he would employ or technique he would try to stab me with. We have pressure tested those arm smashes with bare bones and disarmed each other ! We could not even pick up the knife after our arm was struck. Forearm Pads are necessary for the full contact sparring. It's actually disabling I promise you. And at any time those flashes to the eyes could have stopped an attacker or disrupted his vision. The low kicks are no joke. We pressure tested those with only one person wearing a shin pad ! Limp city ! But stay tuned & subscribe because you will see us do disarms if the attacker can get inside. So please subscribe and comment.

Not enough people pressure testing knife attacks. This is why I started this TH-cam channel . It's research...I will take any tips I can get. If it fits into my small person system I will adopt it for sure. And I agree it seems impossible to stop a knife at random patterns and targets. I have wrestled with rubber knives and know what your talking about for sure. Our instincts say grab the hand but you get cut to ribbons many times. it is very challenging. That is why I teach my guys to hit people to win from the outside with strikes..Thanks again..
