Dan , this is GOOD! Keep posting, keep racing!!!
Dan Congratulations on your Championship this season and here is a Championship worthy WIN!
You know, it's a lot easier to win when you get a hole shot and start from the front. On the other hand it can be more fun passing your way to the front. 😉 Congratulations!
@@bryanwhitton1784 thank you!
@@bryanwhitton1784 thank you!
I had/have a good friend who was a nationally ranked TT rider when he and I were both in college. The things he could do on a motorcycle were amazing. Often times scary but amazing nonetheless. He would just laugh when I would get worried about him.
@@bigslim492 the most amazing things are accomplished on a bike when we are the most relaxed
@@bigslim492 the challenge is setting the fear aside. At least for me. For me at times the fear of losing was more prevalent than the fear of getting hurt. Racing is a balancing act of that line.
What a large amount of testicle fortitude to make that pass on the hill on the outside.......Dan what a night thanks for the inspiration
@@keitheusebiosr.5154 Thanks for all of your contributions. You may be the one of the best flaggers ive ever sern
@@dancahoon636 thank you Dan I sure have fun flagging and supporting the Club
Congratulations!
@@bryanwhitton1784 Thank you!
Excellent race.
A close 3 way fight for first! ;-)
Great race, Dan.
And that's why you try and avoid passing on the outside. Great ride. Congratulations.
Excellent job!
I like the format a lot. But I would request that the music be turned off or turned down about 90%. I honestly would rather listen to the sound of the engines than the music. But the videos were great as was the format.
Congratulations!
@@bryanwhitton1784 thank you
@@dancahoon636 I am so impressed with the videographer. Congratulations again. I was hoping to put together a ride for next year, but it looks like I need another surgery on my back. Sooo racing again? We will see. Still going to build the bike if I can physically do so. So much fun to watch you win though. Keep doing it. Next year I will try to come out on race day to watch in person. Maybe even bring my grandson to watch and see how grandpa used to spend his time when he was a young man. We didn't have Pokieman back then.
@@bryanwhitton1784 the videographer is my wife. Ill let her know.
@@bryanwhitton1784 yeah let me know if you can make it out
Ahhhhhh... I can smell the castor oil from here! 🙂
The Astro. The best!
Is that the same Lodi cycle bowl I raced 1965 and 1966
Yes it is.
our next race is 9/28/2024 if you can make it
I have always been super interested in flat track bike racing and hooligan/super-moto racing. I come from a motocross background but I’m way too old and beat up to do that anymore, especially at anything like a competitive level! I also have a decent amount of open wheel dirt track car racing as well which seems like it could be relevant. Regardless of the type of racing, I’ve always been at least as interested in the technical aspect of it (suspension setups, engine building/optimization, pit strategy, etc.) as I have in the actual racing experience. I’m that dude that was much more a fan of Chad Knaus than Jimmy Johnson! Anyway, watching you guys run on this particular track, I was seeing what seemed like a lot of rebound from the inconsistencies of the track and they seemed to cause a lot of issues keeping the bike leaned over and being able to stay on the throttle and keep your line. Would locking that rear shock down a bit help that? Or maybe softening the compression and having as little rebound as possible? I guess what I’m asking is, what’s the “standard” or the “normal” goal for this style of racing as far as suspension setup is concerned? I appreciate any info you can provide and if you’re too busy, feel free to ignore me! Thanks for the video man!!
Outstanding. You owned that one.
Good to see another post. Smooth ride.
Where is this?
High five Dan, awesome video!
🙏😎 OGWILDWOODIE55Y 😎😇🤪
Wow. That's one of the tightest TT tracks Ive ever seen out there. That tight right to left is something else. Looks like fun.
🙏😎 OGWILDWOODIE55Y 😎😇🤪
Boy, the last time you got tired and laid down in the middle of the race to rest. Now you don't even let the guy in 2nd get close enough to compete. You need to make up your mind. 😉 Great ride! Looked like so much fun. Just wait until next year when this 70 year old comes back to his roots. Boy.. then you'll see, you'll have one more guy to beat badly. 😆
Good stuff man always wanted to try flat track.
@@rdy434 its a lot f fun. you should give it a try.
🙏😎 OGWILDWOODIE55Y 😎😇🤪
You chose an odd time to lay down and take a rest.😉 Good ride other than that.
lol I know it was 107 that day.
@@dancahoon636 I used to live and race in Texas, I can remember endurance racing on my TL1000 at Texas Motor Speedway in Bryan Texas where 107 would be considered comfortable. 😉 I have never seen these super TT races before. It kind of looks like the racing for TV from the early 80's where they brought racers from different disciplines to compete and the tracks had components from each of the disciplines. So road racers, flat trackers and motocrossers and the tracks had some of each type of racing on every lap. As I recall the motocrossers always won.
@@dancahoon636 Man, I wish I could race again. But being 69 and all.
@@bryanwhitton1784 its a fun sport. Not sure how long I can do it but got a few more years in me hopefully.
@@dancahoon636 I can't say for sure but I suspect your likelihood of racing longer would be benefited by not resting in the middle of a race. 😉
Ah, brings back memories of racing indoors during the winter at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds. Spraying starter fluid on the tires to soften them. Great fun!
Cool races and I love the video work. Good job both on and off the track.
Thank you! My wife is the videographer. Ill pass it along.

yes Lodi Cycle bowl
Another win. 👍
You own that track. Looks like a really good weekend of racing for Team Cahoon.
That's a neat track. You get to turn left AND right! Awesome race.
You nailed the start. Congrats!
@@kevinspake7338 Thank you!
Nice race! Does "purple people eater" refer to the bike?
They didn't stand a chance! Nice race.

What a night!
Hey #54E!!! That is my number and I ride a Bultaco too!!! Only nowhere near as fast, and my Bul is a Pursang, and I ride vintage MX although started life on a Bultaco Sherpa S flatrack racing! 1972 AMA District 4 NY amatuer class champion! Whoo hoo!
Nice, where are you located are you in California?
@@dancahoon636 No the total opposite...upstate NY. Man there use to be a FT or TT race somewhere in the state every weekend back then now there is ONE functioning TT track left in Medina NY. The last of the short tracks shut down and was sold 2 years ago new owner looking for some one to lease the track and keep it running but no one is interested I guess so probably get made into a gravel pit soon...
@@bultacowally thats a bummer. Hopefully flat track is making a comeback.
Where is this at? And where are the outlaw 3 wheelers?
This was Santa Rosa
Was going to go, but I think that's the tiniest track I ever seen, probably not worth the 1-3/4 hour drive.
its small, but a lot if fun. The rules are odd though. Jumping or causing the red flag is not penalized.
It was pretty cool. Tacky and smooth.
Is this the same Dan Cahoon who worked at Vickers Honda? 😮
no I grew up in Salinas.
That would of been me 😂. I raced there in 70’s.
That ain't enough room for a good skating rink ridiculous.
what race is this? is It lost or something?
its Monterey short track from 1987
@@dancahoon636 any good coverage? its cool.
i do not see them shifting so how this happened ?
The shifter is on the same side as the brake. While braking my foot hit the shifter.
I recognized the track from the thumbnail! Monterey Short Track!!!
Monterey Short Track!!!
You owned that race from the start.
And then there was one.... Did the other riders have mechanical issues or did you just scare them off the track?
There were some mechanical failures. Last race of the season.
thats also the Vintage class. 1978 or older.
