Great message and great beard
Wonderful message again
Look at that haircut!
Thank you for posting.
You’re welcome! Looking forward to seeing you and Michael again!
I hope this catches many itching ears, and re-programs folks back to BIBLE.
Shared it with over 200 friends hope someone will watch.
Thank you for your labor of love. I love your preaching
I love your preaching. May God continue to move you to follow in the steps of Paul.
Thank you so much for your encouragement! May the LORD continue to bless you also!
I've been speaking out in spite of my employment for years, been calling their bluff for a long time. Perhaps keeping my job in itself is part of the blessing for doing so, but I've also been trying to prepare myself for if i did lose my job. Trusting in the Lord to keep His promise the same as He has done all this time is what i try to remember. So far there are fewer times that I've been kept quiet by fear than times that I've spoken out. The ongoing challenge hasn't been saying the truth but rather saying it in a way that isn't as abrasive. 😅
Excellent job standing on truth and being willing to proclaim it in the workspace. There is no bifurcation of sacred/secular jobs, but we are do our jobs as though we’re honoring the Lord and serving Him (Colossians 3:23-24). The Lord teaches us to love the unlovable (Matthew 5:44; Luke 6:27) and to speak the truth in gentleness and respect (1 Peter 3:15). All these things are impossible without the Spirit of the Lord living in us and guiding us. Continue walking in the Lord, brother, keeping your eyes fixed upon the Author and Perfecter of your faith!
My brother! Always delivering the truth thank you brother!
Thank you for the encouragement, brother! May our Lord continue guiding and directing you!
Ill add to that no1 has stolen from people, killed people, robbed people, polluted people, oppressed people, etc more than the government. So how can paul say theyre not a terror to good works when historically they are proven to the MOST evil in the world including our own government. Wouldn't make any sense. Must be more to what he's saying
I've been experiencing spiritual warfare as well I believe. This oneness is something we are sorely lacking and i can attest to that in my own life deeply. But the more i experience it, the more i see how necessary and freeing it is.
May you continue to experience oneness with God!
Another great sermon. Thank You, Pastor Bost.
Thank you for your encouragement! I appreciate it very much.
Very well done, Pastor Bost! I’m very edified by your preaching.
I truly love your teaching and your on-fire faithful presentation. You are a great blessing. May God continue to greatly prosper you and use you.
Thank you for your kind words. I very much appreciate hearing that God is blessing you through the teaching of His Word!
Thank you for being a good example of what you teach!!
Thank you. That is very kind of you. My desire is to honor God I’m every area of my life.
I am so very encouraged to know that there is another Pastor in this local area who is preaching biblical application in the same way that my own Pastor teaches. May God bless you for your earnest faithful labor. Loved and was edified but your sermon. Thank you.
Thank you for your words of encouragement!
Wonderful application! God bless you!Galatians 6:9
Excellent sermon! Thank You for your labor! 1 Corinthians 15:58
The connections are unparalleled. The depth of the word does not cease!
The enemy might be sneaky, but by no means are they modest. They've been proclaiming allegiance to their religion for years. All arms of the political machine and both sides of the aisle are partaking in the worship to their "god". Frankly, we shouldn't be surprised. They continue to provoke and flaunt. We've been asleep at the wheel, so its to be expected that we've lost so much ground. The ultimate battle is already won, but whatever amount of time we have left in this realm, we need to be more emboldened to do as we've been commanded. I'm certainly guilty of not doing what i'm called to and missing out on opportunities to be a part of His work.
Its fixed! No more slow motion. Glad i got to hear the first few minutes this time! Again, always combing through scripture for incredible details, bringing the word to life. Wonderful message Shane.
Its so easy for us to fall into this, creating ideas of idolatry that make it easier for us to justify how we live. Then to go as far as to invoke vitriol toward anyone that suggests we should reconsider. We cling to what we know and make it our identity instead of remembering that our identity is in Christ. I pray that i can remain teachable and don't become so high minded that i am blind to the truth. Lord, please correct my path, fix my words, fix my thinking, i know that otherwise without my surrender i can't fulfill your word and be a light unto others.
So glad i came back to this one. Conviction, calling to action, discipleship, fearlessness in the face of evil . I pray to be guided by the Lord, may He evoke change in me to be a tool for his work. I flail aimlessly without the spirit, an arrow with no fletches, a blade with no hilt - useless and dead with works of filthy rags. I HAVE to be better than I am but it is not something i can ever do on my own, not without the Spirit working in me. I pray to stop quenching the Holy Spirit, i am sick and lifeless without you oh God.
I am very opinionated and find myself doing the same thing you described, not only ignoring the logs in my own eye, but having a hard time accepting people who have different theology and views than I and sometimes berating them in ways that isn't helpful. I always end up feeling bad about it and the Spirit pulls my pants down every time. I think perhaps i do it because i'm battling the anxiety of confrontation. So it sort of spills out of me in a crude blunt way more like an eruption rather than a precise execution. That anxiety about confrontation is an obvious sign of distrust. So i'm just continually praying for Him to help my disbelief. It literally breaks my entire mind in half to know that someone could love me this much despite knowing all of my deepest destructive natures, and i suppose that's what keeps me in that disbelief. A bird only makes a nest where it is comfortable, THANK YOU for covering this Shane. This is such an important topic. Like you started off with, i don't want to believe things that are incorrect about God, Christ, or the Spirit. That leaves me seriously open to birds of prey making nests in my heart. Bad theology leads to bad practice like you've also said. We are to be watchmen on the wall. The watchmen is to be ready, not laid about in complacency. I pray for the strength to continually shed this slothful unreadiness in me.
I don't mind the long sermons, even when in person, in fact i want to listen longer most times. Thank you again sir.
Another convicting testimony. Thank you Shane. My soul needs this discipline.
Amen 🙏 yes He is faithful in our trials!! God is not concerned with our faithfulness to Him. He is looking for us to realize his faithfulness to us and respond in worship to him! We are to be obedient and follow after the Lord!
Amen 🙏
Thanks for this reminder brother as well as insight!! Very helpful!!
Amen! In the mighty name and character of Christ I pray Father that you will restore the years of stagnation and idolatry of a God that I created. I repent and turn to the most high God who has revealed himself to me through his word you are the God that I will praise for the rest of my days. I can’t wait to see all that you have in store for your faithful servants.
Yes and amen!
Thank you brother Shane for shedding light on covenant!
Amen
Amen!!! Man I needed to hear this one!
The more I learn, the more I uncover the depth of my ignorance. This was a good one Shane, thank you.
We all have so much to learn. The depth of God is infinite. It’s awesome to realize we will never plumb the depths of God, but what an exciting journey it is!! Thank you for your kind words.
Very excellent as usual. Thank you Shane.
Thank you for your kind words! It’s a blessing to me that you listen and share your thoughts. I’m grateful to hear the messages are an encouragement. Blessings!
Perhaps i'm misunderstanding, but i've listened to another scholar describe speaking in tongues as the language spoken by those delivered to witness against the anti-christ. The language spoken through them by the Holy Spirit being understood by all people of the world. His point being, if you are unable to understand what the person is saying, then it is not truly speaking in tongues the way scripture describes. So i suppose he isn't denying speaking in tongues as a Holy gift, but he views it as something given for a specific purpose, not for general worship or communion. His stance is compelling to me, but my knowledge on the topic is limited so i could be missing information that could change that view.
I’m not entirely sure what the person is meaning to communicate concerning their interpretation of the gift of tongues. It sounds like the person may be conflating Acts 2 with 1 Corinthians 12-14. Now, there certainly is a correlation between the two passages, but the gift of tongues is more expansive. To understand the spiritual gift of tongues, 1 Corinthians 12 has to read in context with chapters 13-14 I’ll try to do a video on it because there is a lot to cover, but here is a quick response. The gift of tongues, as mentioned in 1 Corinthians 12:10, is described in the Scriptures as three different expressions. The Bible demonstrates three different expressions of the gift: 1. supernaturally speaking an audible language in the listener’s native language 2. supernaturally given a prophetic word in a spiritual tongue, 3. supernaturally given a spiritual tongue meant to deepen the believer’s prayer life. In all of these expressions, the believer is never “out of his mind” nor in a trans-like state. In all three expressions the believer is fully cognizant of mind and aware of his surroundings. Remember, the gifts are not meant to draw attention to oneself, but to edify and grow the Body of Christ, always in proper order. God is not the author of confusion (1 Corinthians 14:33). First, Acts 2:1-13 demonstrates one expression of the gift of tongues as supernaturally being able to fluently speak a recognizable, current, and active language. The people were hearing those from the upper room “speak in his own native language” (Acts 2:6, 8). This expression of the gift of tongues indicates the Holy Spirit enable those from the upper room to speak fluently a language unknown to them, but known to the listener. This expression of the gift of tongues does not mean those from the upper room suddenly became experts in the listener’s native language, but rather they continued praying in their minds their native language, but the words came out audibly in the listener’s native language. As a note, this expression of the gift is meant to show how Jesus the Messiah was reuniting the nations through Himself (as prophesied multiple places) as contrasted to God confusing the languages at the Tower of Babel in Genesis 11:1-9. Another expression of the gift of tongues includes giving a prophetic word in a spiritual tongue, which then requires two or at the most three to interpret the tongue (1 Corinthians 14:27). This indicates that God supernaturally gives a person a prophetic word through a spiritual language and is meant to have an interpreter to interpret and convey the prophetic word to the listeners. Paul talks about the gift of interpretation of tongues in 1 Corinthians 12:10. Lastly, Paul states he speaks in tongues more than any of the Corinthians (1 Corinthians 14:18). This expression of the gift of tongues is meant as a prayer spiritual language, not meant to be interpreted for a listener but is meant for the individual and God as expressed within the context of 1 Corinthians 14:13-19. This expression of the gift is meant to deepen the prayer life of the believer and deepen the intimacy with God. This correlates to Paul’s teaching how believers are to walk and live in the Spirit in Romans 8, ultimately getting to verses 26-27, “Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.” Believers with this expression of the gift ata lol times are praying in their minds in their native language, but the Spirit is speaking audibly through their moths. Most people I know with this gift use it not for “showmanship” to get people to look at them, but rather as to learn and hear the Holy Spirit’s words as to pray them back to Him. I hope this helps. I will try to do a video that expands on this to bring fuller understanding to this gift. Paul encourages us to earnestly seek the gifts (1 Corinthians 12:31). If you haven’t already listened to it, I encourage you to listen to the teaching I did on the Last Supper, called Incomprehensible Love. It will hopefully offer an understanding as to why the Holy Spirit even came with gifts, why we are encouraged to seek the gifts, and why the Body is meant to exercise the gifts. It can be viewed here: th-cam.com/video/Z9hoINGxjuw/w-d-xo.html
@@truthislacking Wonderful, thank you Shane! I will seek deeper on this and continue listening.
1:30 The age of the earth does not prove or disprove biological evolution. The fossil record conclusively indicates that living things have changed over time. Thus evolution can be considered as a fact, and the evidence for the age of the layers in which these fossils are found is overwhelming. Those that dispute the conclusions drawn from that evidence now resort to changing the laws of physics in order to advance an argument. What we see from young-earth creationists is arrogance in thinking they are the purpose behind the existence of everything.
So worth listening to!!
I agree with 98% of your message. Just one small thing: Curious to know exactly where it states that Paul appointed Timothy to be THE Pastor of the Church. To the best of my knowledge and study of the New Testament, I cannot find a "THE Pastor" of any of the churches. I do see many passages that speak of a group of men leading the church, referred to interchangeably as overseers, elders, pastors and shepherds, but always in the plural, never in the singular. In fact, if one studies thoroughly it becomes quite apparent that the only leadership roles in the New Testament were Elders and Deacons. Somehow over the last two thousand years we have made Pastor a third role, but this is foreign to the examples provided for us in God's Word. An excellent book on this topic is BIBLICAL ELDERSHIP by Alexander Strauch
Thank you for your comment. The elders, (and I agree, almost always listed in the plural form) are the overseers of the church. However, even among the plurality, there are going to be some that serve as the primary teachers and preachers (1 Tim 5:17). Additionally, I agree that, generally speaking, the term “pastor” from Ephesians 4:11 is often conflated with today’s misunderstanding of “pastor”. However, biblically speaking, pastors/shepherds (poimēn) are meant to serve as the shepherd of the church, in unity with the elders, with all submitting to the Chief Shepherd- Jesus. Pastors are to be among the elder body, not adjacent to, and certainly not above it. Among the plurality of elders and in agreement with the elder body, they serve as the “leader” or primary shepherd, called by God to that particular church, often serving as the primary teacher and preacher. They are meant to function among the body of elders, as one of the elders. His responsibilities of serving as primary teacher and preacher are delegated to him by the elder body. The pastor is not meant to operate independent of the elder body. It’s meant to function as an organic body rather than a hierarchal flow chart. Timothy is often attributed as “the pastor” of the church in Ephesus. It’s not so much the title that is given to him, but rather how he appears to have functioned. Timothy appears to have functioned in the biblical meaning of pastor/shepherd (poimen). He was appointed directly by Paul to oversee the church of Ephesus (1Tim 1:3). Timothy’s responsibility was to ensure, and even command, that no false teaching or doctrine be taught, and to ensure the church was in good order (1 Tim 1:3-4). It’s very unlikely that Timothy functioned as today’s pastors do in non-elder led churches. Rather, Timothy would have served among the elders, as a shepherd. It appears the elders in Ephesus were already be in place before Timothy was appointed by Paul (Acts 20:17), which makes his appointment all the more significant. Paul appoints Timothy, similar to the way he appointed Titus to Crete (Titus 1:5). It is in this fashion that I believe the office of shepherd (poimēn) is meant to function (Eph 4:11-12). Thank you for further reading recommendation.
Geology genealogy archaeology biology cosmology paleontology all show us the earth and universe are young when all of the evidence is considered. For example light traveling between galaxies only slows down when it enters the mass of our galaxy.
Why is this not taught in mainstream science!
Oh, come on. Who says "evidences"? It's archaic and über jarring. In modern English, "evidence" is a mass noun and therefore does not have a plural form. 🙄
Scofield/Darby Dispensational Theology is from satan. Jesus is not a Zionist!
23:05 i think the moon was directly affected by the flood, as per the hydroplate model, debis from the fountains of the deep bursting projected faster than escape velocity and struck the near side of the moon, thus causing the crater asymmetry. see Brian Nickel's video series
That sounds really interesting. Thank you.
@@truthislacking HPT is amazing in its explanatory power, and Nickel has produced a great series of videos covering the theory from every angle
I think the term that applies to that way of thinking is "lunacy."
The faith being illustrated to us in these passages is so poignant when considering how we so often disregard the awe inspiring power of Christ. We stay back quietly in our comfort and never lean on the power of God to open doors for us to truly do His work. We fear, despite the hundreds of times the word tells us "fear not". Like the Israelites witnessing the raw might of God delivering them from Egypt and yet still could not fathom Him bringing them victory against the Canaanites. Simply silliness. Our lack of real belief robs us of our ability to do our duties. "I cannot do that because i might lose a worldly possession/position/or my appearances. Again, bringing the Word to my ignorant ears, that was another great one. I just really appreciate you putting in the work to record these for us. I comment to let you know that i'm getting value from it. Technology is a double edged sword but I think you're using the right side of it by recording these sermons Brother, thank you.
Thank you for your comments. I really appreciate them and value them. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and what God is doing with you through the preaching of His Word. May He continue edifying you and building up your faith.
One of the pastors i've studied with for a very long time whom i respect and still follow, made statements a few years ago such as "whomever is elected as our president is ordained by God". Perhaps i was misunderstanding what he was trying to say, but i took it as we shouldn't care who runs our country because we are guaranteed to be led by whoever God wants us to be led by. That felt extremely narrow minded to me and felt like an excuse to not be viewed as too politically minded by his congregation/viewership. Either that or a self-exoneration of responsibility, which I think we often do because its easier than. Explain away that responsibility so there is one less thing i should have to worry about, so to speak. His father, was often of the opposite position. Luckily these days he seems to be shifting his perspective a bit; no doubt he can only ignore what we are all witnessing for so long if he's being honest with himself and still seeking truth. My understanding has been that we are to live out God's word in all parts of life. So by tolerating evil in our midst, we are inviting poison to corrupt us and drive us away from the Lord. Its another uncomfortable topic, but i think a worth while one. I think many of us don't want to have these uncomfortable discussions because we like the "go along to get along" attitude. We don't like confrontation. But that comfort is driving us into cowardice and tempting us to reject our charge to uphold God's word and be a righteous people. We distill it down and assume "as long as i'm leading a Christian life that's all i need to worry about". I can't help but feel that's not the work we were called to do. As well, i think we also hide behind this assumption that America is ordained by God and will forever be protected as a chosen land. "The new Israel" i've heard it called...of which i don't think i buy either. That seems like dangerous territory that invites complacency from a presumption of protection, which can be seen in our perpetual sin as of late. We're coasting as if we've got everything in the bag, meanwhile evil is growing in our midst and feeding on our inaction. Living life on autopilot. Also i know that's not necessarily the core message of this sermon but i wanted to point it out and thank you for touching on some of these topics, like the normalization of ritualistic child sacrifice - also known as abortion. We are not doing our neighbors a service by tiptoeing around these issues. We have to confront our sin so we can strefo and repent.
Excellent. Building upon all the recent lessons.
I wanted to come revisit this one. We must be confronted about our sin. Its not comfortable and it doesn't "sell", but its what we need more than anything. Thank you Shane.
Something to remember, praise our way through our difficulties.
