This video clearly lacks alot of misguided information! the highway is going to point fortin! its just the debe to mon desir segment that should be rerouted! the proposed highway! phase one from the cocacola factory in sando to the creek is phase one of the highway and should be built first! why is it that the government is so adamant in building the debe to mon desir segment! who are they fooling? where are the technical reviews? there are none clearly!

Daily thousands of people are stuck in traffick on the Debe main road, m2 ring road Sando bypass,Duncan village,Bamboo Junction etc. the highway will remove thousands from these roads from the Penal, Siparia, Fyzabad areas. Rerouting will move the highway northwards AWAY from thes areas, which does not make economic sense.

The reroute path will be taking the highway many miles AWAY from penal, san Francique, Siparia, Fyzabad and surrounding communities defeating the purpose.These communities are growing every day and need quick access to avoid traffic on the Debe main road, ring road, Sando bypass, bamboo junct etc, refurbishing existing roads to handle this is pure crap, and impractical, its just a fantasy. You talk about enviroment yet support a road through a mangrove swamp!?

Agri has been abandoned in this area, it was previously cane and rice, these lands have now been abandoned, former farmers have little experience in food crops, check google map! All talk of agriculture, but no one wants their children to plant bodi or bigan, they want them to be doctor and lawyer. In any the highway is only taking up a tiny portion of the land and leaving 98% untoched for farmers if any. the hiway will provide traffic free transport for these few farmers!

The area is already criss crossed with ' embankments' in the form of secondary roads. The simple engineering used to prevent flooding is to have drainage channels pass under the roads. These channels, drains and rivers must be respected during construction and improved where necessary. Its that simple! They also lie about agriculture. Along the secondary roads the land is being used for housing, not agriculture as they claim, its either highway or housing, there are more fertile land elsewhere

The reroute movement only concern is to save their homes and we can’t be vex with them for that, however they have been perpetuating a lot of lies. They are calling this area a flood plain but people have paid as much as 300k for a lot of land in Gopee trace and built million dollar homes here. Who wants to live in a flood plain where your car and home is flooded 5 times a year? I live here and have not seen any floods at the height of the rainy season.
