1 thing you missed: The day before State Farm started cancelling policies in 2024, LA County & the City of LA cut the budget for brush clearing...specifically for preventing the spread of fires. *Love* Democrats & their Policies! You'll own nothing & be happy!
State Farm is a shyster insurance co, good riddance to them.
And the fires are not done
Get ready for tax increases fellow cali’s
Typical , 99% of Americans having to pay for the 1%.
The burn area is identical to the smart city map. It’s all being done to destroy personal wealthy and freedom. Remember, you’ll own nothing and be happy.
Fire
California unFair Plan. Insurance canceled, cheapest was Cali unFair Plan. Was paying $90 a month, $2,500 deductible. Cali unFair Plan is $600 a month, $20k deductible. Im uninsured and took several fire prevention/preparedness steps instead. FGN
Don't listen to this guy. He's a private insurance salesman. He hates public insurance because it cuts into his ability to gouge you. Come on, man. It's like listening to a FedEx rep slamming the US Postal System. Duh.
I am insured with an insurance cooperative. It lovely.
They will raise the rates on the rest of the country.
they should just get rid of the fair plan and let the individual home owners pay fire insurance if it's too expensive (which it often is i.e. doubles your mortgage) then don't buy the house, get a home away from fire zones.
It doesn't take a genius to figure out why insurance companies are leaving California. California fails to maintain their forests around residential neighborhoods. The state of California will not allow insurance companies to increase their premiums to offset the neglect of California to manage their forests. Geico pulled out a year or two ago because of the high damage to vehicles. Insurance companies do not want to pay for the lawlessness of California cities.
There is nothing Fair about California.
Excellent video.
Anytime a government gets into private insurance, it’s going to a train wreck.
Go woke, go broke. California is literally in a doom loop on almost every level. San Francisco is a dystopian nightmare, with L.A. and San Diego not far behind.
California politicians are trying to cure cancer with aspirin- California air Plain was a failure since the get go.
When will our Fair Plan bills reflect the consequences of these fires? Is there an anticipated date for Phase 2 of costs to hit all Californians?
duh! because there's no government in california.
There is no government in Commifornia but there is loads and loads of bureaucracy, red tape, fines, regulation and departments of fines and regulation. A building could be built for $500,000, but with regulations and regulators and permits, it would be double and take years. Who in their right mind would go there. Yet, your governor “ for your benefit” won’t let anyone sell his land or home in that area for what you can get for it so you could leave, so that “ speculators cant take advantage of you mindless fools” or because he has some other plan that will benefit him, not you. I wanted to cut my losses and get out, who is he to prevent it? Is it to prevent taxpayers from leaving an area with no water, a grid that goes down, is it to somehow get the land for his purposes. He does nothing for the people, always for his purposes under the guise of helping.
Sounds like democrats really know how to run a state
CA government needs to allow insurance companies to charge a higher fees to match the RISK in that area! By NOT allowing charging home insurance based on the Risk, EVERYONE Else is paying for the price while these Billionaires pay a lower insurance premium!
That's INSANE! The mismanagement of California & cities end up costing EVERY Californian Homeowners with HIGHER Insurance! California politicians crazy bad policy is going to another level!
Wow. Cali is in trouble...Thank you for this very informative video...
I'm on the Fair Plan and in a fire zone. I have no other insurance option. I think this disaster will be doubling my premiums.
You are going to get money to rebuild your home? Permits will take 3 to 5 years. More codes and regulations. Now all insurance companies will leave. California government insurance will be double or triple along with Hundreds of exceptions.
Thanks for the explanation! The Insurance companies have PLAYED in probability and actuarial game FOR SO MANY YEARS --,and they have FOR ALL ( yes -ALL) YEARS - won that game!!! The insurance companies PROFITED- their MULTI BILLIONS- the WHOLE TIME! NOW, the extreme anomalies-have affected their ongoing highly successful scam of raking in MORE than MULTI BILLIONS- and now- THEY DON’T want to PAY! We need to DEEPLY reassess the business model of insurance!!!! A LOT LESS PROFITS, a LOT LESS GIFTING OF STOCK OPTIONS-- and a WHOLE LOT MORE of the PROFITS-FORCED by NEWLY CREATED LAWS- that KEEP the massive profits in their treasuries- READY TO BE PAID OUT to customers who have FOR SO MANY YEARS- paid premiums and NEVER COLLECTED- ANYTHING! Bottom line; insurance companies have MADE MORE THAN “ multi billions” off NEVER PAYING and now they HAVE to pay- as their probabilities game has gone against them!!
Haha! Now the woke, liberal, Dem California voters are dealing with the consequences
Folks, this is a also a problem for Florida, Louisiana, Texas and other disaster prone areas. It’s NOT just a “ California “ issue.
It’s time for national homeowners insurance and national healthcare coverage that is nonprofit!!!
That's like hoping for a government that doesn't have lobbyists and is as corrupt as hell.
Government will need to chuck in 50 billion to make it solvent
Ok here is the biggest idiot in the history of TH-cam. The fair plan is broke “ at the worst possible time”? Mmmm let’s guess why. Could the most expensive fire in the history of the country have anything to do with it?
Because of your politics destroys the state
californias high speed rail will cost each person in California $4000. That is $20,000 per family of five. How many airline tickets between LA and San Fran will $400]0 buy? I reckon about 40. Most californians by far will never need to travel between these two point even ten times. And if we need too, a flight is cheaper by far. cancel the dam train and stop this madness.
So the state FAIR plan is very unfair to the rest of us that buy free market insurance. Basically FAIR is a cut rate plan, saving its insured homeowners a lot of premium money, but it is broke, so now the rest of us that bought private insurance are on the hook to pay for others who got cut rate insurance from the state. fuck that. fuck newsom, fuck the dems.
This is not right to charge homeowners who have never even had a single claim and don't even use that insurance company. How ironic that they use the word fair in the company name, not fair at all!
The feds will need to step in to Cali for the time being for insurance.. These fires will be the worst disaster in US history exceeding Katrina’s 200B. I’d say 300B
,🤬🦉 is Regulating these Thieves 🤬🫡🙏🙏🫵🙏👊
I just renewed my home insurance just before the fires started. I hope I'll still have the opportunity to renew next January because my previous insurer canceled my home insurance renewal "by no fault of my own" in 2024. Yes, I live in California.
FAIR ACT INSURANSE HAS 2 BILLION ON HAND ITS BROKE SO THE COST OF FIRES WILL BE SPREAD OUT TO EVERY INSURED PROPERTY OWNER AND AUTO POLICY THRU OUT CALIFORNIA? SAKES TAX INCREASE AND ALL ASSOCIATED FEES
Need to have fire and earthquake insurance run by the federal government. This is where its heading, no need for private companies.
Clear the lot and move a mobile home onto it ! Turn la into a mobile home park! Hurry!millions in mobile home sales waiting for the right guy.
Yes, The HOA fees applied to units over 3 stories. They are mostly on the coast and older and have been both affected by the salt and not maintained. They are potential hazards and need to be repaired at a very high cost passed on to the owners.
This video aged like shit. Now we understand why noone wanted to insure these homes
Tell newsome to find the lost 24 billion, that would help to be sure ...
That is not fair.
I wonder if Gavin Newsom plays the fiddle? Because his similarity to Roman Emperor Nero is uncanny.
The whole country will pay for CA issues. "You can't squeeze blood out of a turnip."
The whole country is also paying for Florida and Texas and Louisiana issues. Don’t delude yourself.
@@Starfish2145 You are correct. But Sir if I am to be insulted, I first must value your opinion.
Can't fix stupid so this country is doomed.
on the plus side, California is still a BLUE state 😁
