I got a 02 dodge ram truck and it has 408.000 and all original except for water pump and starter and alternator I also put a new radiator on it. Mine gets about 8mpg. But I have outrunned hemis going up the steep mountain were I live I couldn't imagine it having more power
@@davidmckinney6577 dang that’s not bad at all, is it a 4.7 or 5.9?
I had a CJ3A with a Buick 300 V8 and , stock T-90 , Dana 18 , Warn O.D. , Saginaw steering box ! Get a smaller steering wheel and or tilt column !
Where is y’all’s shop located? I’m in the area and I’m interested in checking it out
Dude, I put a 225 Dauntless in my Willys too. I rebuilt it to stock, with the stock 2 barrel and headers. what an engine. in the real ruff stuff it would idle down to 300 RPM and not stall, had a T14 in it with 32" shoes. I love that engine. that was a long time ago.
Aahhhh the poor old Hemi tick. It's not for everyone and I wouldn't recommended it to just everyone. If your the type of person that I know does and keep up with maintenance and understand the importance of maintenance then I'll say if you really like the ram truck that much then go ahead. But if your the type of person like my brother 😂 for example who absolutely know nothing about vehicles then ill say no and to stay away from the ram for your own sake and for the ram truck sake 😂. My brother is so clueless when it come to vehicles that his first car ever a old 1994 Toyota Camry he literally drove it with out knowing that vehicle's needed oil change and that oil change are important and reason behind oil change 😂. It wasn't until one day I borrowed his camry to go get a pack of cigarette in the middle of the night because my car was block in the driveway and I didn’t feel like moving all the cars around just to get my car out the driveway. I immediately felt something wasn't right. The engine was shaking and not normal especially when accelerating to merge on to the highway it was clearly low on power and shaking, but I didn't felt any miss fire just down on power and shaking no miss fire. Got to the gas station got under the hood did some quick investigation and the moment I pull the oil dip stick to check 😲... the oil dip stick was bone dry 🤨. Ended up also buying engine oil for the poor camry at that gas station. After adding the oil I drove back home and immediately notice the shaking was gone the power was back and csn feel more power merging onto the highway. The dame thing ran perfectly after adding oil. I gotta say them 90s toyota we're built different. The only thing that rang in my head the entire time driving home was how long have my brother been driving like that. Do that to a ram and you'll kill it. Them stupid tiny oil port to the lifter roller are already horrible as it is. Add on a poor owner who nglecting the simplest oil change is a big disaster just waiting to happen on these ram. Leaving old oil residue to clog up them poor design lifers roolers tiny oil port id the number one Hemi tick killer symptoms. If you want to own one of these 5.7 v8 hemi, you better be religious about the oil change and keeping the engine oil from any contamination that can clog up the lifter roller stupid tiny oil port design. If you can do that, you can get some good life out of it before the hemi tick put a end to it. Because it is a when more then a how or why with these hemi. My neighbor love these ram so much he have two of them a 3rd and 4th gen.
Nice looking truck! I have a 2005 2500 with QC & Long Bed. Love it! Workhorse! Just picked up another 2005 1500 with QC and 6'4" Bed. Came with a plow. I may switch over the plow to the 2500. I am a Gen 3 guy I guess! All 5.7 Hemi.
I don’t understand how you can say it last when you had to replace the engine and the transmission
Did any Gen 3 pickups with 5.7L Hemi's ever come with manual transmissions?
Im late to the party but lifted and aggressive! Go out there and rip up those roads!
Beautifull Jeep
Have a 2014 Ram Outdoorsman w/ 5.7 - it has been a great truck and a 4wd truck you don’t see a lot of. It is a southern truck and well cared for, only 95k and looks and drives like when we brought it home. Had a couple small issues under warranty- now just had a ABS module issue that was hard to find a part but got that fixed. I live this truck, and it is still a nice beast
The wheel and tire combo ruins this vehicle's aesthetics. I'm okay that it is "moving on," too. Hopefully, it went to someone who really appreciates flatfenders.
You don’t have to manually disengage the parking brake before shifting gears. You put your foot on the brake and shift to drive, the parking brake automatically disengages when you press the accelerator.
I’ve got the same truck with 196,000 and she runs like a champ. Regular maintenance and usual things like alternator, water pump, tie rods, plugs, ect and I did redo the ac this spring. Super easy to work on and cheap to operate
Love my 04

I have a question for you. Currently I own a 2006 V6 RAM with 89,000 original miles. That being said, I got into a minor accident. The airbags didn’t even deploy. I’m needing to replace the front bumper and drivers side fender. That being said, I’d like to replace the front headlights to the original ones instead of the larger ones that are on the 2006-2008 models (personal preference.) what all do I have to replace to make this swap happen? Any info will be greatly appreciated. Take care👍🏻
@@ChrisfromGeorgia for that you’d need fenders, grill, grill support, headlights, the plugs for the headlight bulbs & the bumper trim/cover to go with the lights. It’s sounds like more work than it is. Fairly straightforward & the bulb plugs are easy to wire in
@@aaronsautoshop1991 Hey thanks! I really appreciate the information. It wasn’t a bad considering it was at low speed collision. A young man didn’t yield while turning on green and pulled in front of me. I could’ve got it repaired at a shop, but figured I’d take the check and fix it myself for a lot less. Thanks again and new sub here! 🫡💯
If you bought your car new, why would you hafta keep it clean under the hood after 2.5 .onths?
@@jeffreynye3019 cars tend to get dirty when driving them, especially when on dirt roads/driveways during the winter/rain season
And it has the active fuel management, that are running the C7. My car had 27,000 miles on it, and the transmission has been shuttering.. GM says to flush the transmission, but we just change the fluid and the filter and put some shutter fix in it. And it’s doing great. Oh, we also have one of those ranges to put in the code reader to keep the car going into four-cylinder
Do you have a video of the finished product?
For the love of all that is holy, take those soy douchebag tires and wheels off that Jeep. That is like seeing Chuck Norris in drag.
You smoke in any car, and it ruins it. AMG wheels are the reason you feel and hear the road. It's supposed to be that way. Get the 18s or 17s if you don't want performance driving.
Nice car. Great idea not to do any modifications. Mopar has the Redeye pretty well spec'd.
The color, over the top stripe, and displacement I wished I had.
You look like a brother of scotty kilmer,,,lol
hi there looks real well done , best to all john
It’s crazy how you need to drop the engine cradle a little bit. Haven’t had to do one yet, but I knew that you had to…. 😅
Just bought one. A Week ago love it!!!
Easy to do if you are a mechanic. Which I am not so debating if this would be a good choice for me. I like the headlights.
can we hear the durango next?
I love mine I've got a 427 hemi in mine but i have a question my gas gauge stopped working and my fuse box does not say where anything is like other rides I've had so how can i find out witch fuse goes to what do i can see if it went bad first ?? Please and Thank u
I've got an 02 with the 5.9 V8. I absolutely love it. It has 175k miles and keeps chugging.
I LIFTED MINE 4"
Do the rear seats fold completely flat? My brother fits 3 kids and car seats in a 4runner. I'm sure you could manage 2 kids.
Forward facing is a struggle with more than one when you aren’t seated close to the steering wheel. Next go round we’ll have a LWB and it’d be more manageable. I’m pretty sure 4Runners are a little wider like our suburban has more width as well to make things work a little better. The rear seats go almost flat but still has some upward tilt.
How much refrigerant and oil did the compressor need?
I believe my compressor took about 8 ounces of the PAG & 26 ounces of R134
@@aaronsautoshop1991 thanks man. I definitely need to add some oil then. I filled up with about 32oz of refrigerant. Hopefully that doesn’t cause any issues
Well stated on these rigs being a great all around vehicle. My wife and I have the full-time 4x4 (basically awd, also 2004) version with 5.7l v8, and its been very dependable (17 mpg is the best we've ever seen out of her). Our experience has been a little more rough, but the powertrain continues working. My biggest issues personally, are the 16 spark plugs in a v8 concept and the suspension and/or steering system need more attention than I'd like to admit. But at 20 years old (were actually the 2nd owners) and currently 197k miles, she runs like a beast. As long as I keep maintaining her, 250k miles is easily attainable. Also, she's not worth selling, cause she's worth keeping. ;)
Why you buy it then? I love mine
The spacing is pretty tight under the cowl, but you really don't need to remove it just to change spark plugs. It's just a matter of finessing your tools and your arm through that space, especially cylinder #5 or 6 (whichever is closest to the brake booster).
That engine is clean any method how to clean engine mine is filthy with 100k 😢
I'm from the midwest and have owned Iroc-Z s in my 20s and Corvettes from 30 to 50s. I have never played golf , nor do I want to. Also NO ONE around here where's polo shirts and straw hats while cruising in our Muscle cars.....That is a local thing , not a Corvette thing..... :)
Thank you for this video...My AC just went out...
I just picked up a 2009 ram 2500 5.7 with 63k. The bad news. It came with a plow and rusted bed and doors. Do you have any idea what range of beds and doors I can buy to fit? Also are there any good options for a dump bed upgrade?
That Super stock is my dream car. All 3 colors you mentioned I would be happy with. Beautiful. I am glad I found your channel this morning.
Thanks man I appreciate it. Good luck towards the future super stock. It’s definitely a fun car worth getting.
I bought a 2013 CTS4 Performance coupe in May. It had 90K and was super clean with all service records. Like yours it is VERY clean inside and out. I have done the oil change in both diffs and the transfer case. (really helps!) I have yet to do the trans and I hear on a AWD it's a little tougher. LOVE these coupes....mine is white with black int. Thanks
Ex GM Advisor with similar background. Arron, is the Stellantis product any better? Would you suggest any modern platform configuration from Ford? If not, who, any?
@@mikejohns3104 honestly I’ve been a stellantis fan for awhile but they’ve dropped the ball hard. As much as I hate to say it, I think ford has the upper hand with the 3.5 ecoboost (granted they have their issues) also I’m disappointed they didn’t put the 5.0 into the expeditions other wise I’d definitely go that route. Gm has a good looking lineup & potential but they have some serious bugs to work out on a general quality level. Sadly I really don’t have an ideal model right, but I’d probably pick an ecoboost expedition, just because I can’t see spending 80k on a Yukon just to drive a rental Chevy traverse for 4 months for its time in the shop while my Yukon rots in a parking lot 😂 Long story short I choose option D.
