Rope Runner Pro Fail! (Scary descend at end of video)
This one may not seem like it at first in the video, but it definitely has my heart pumping as I let go of my climbing device and was still descending pretty quickly. So, if anyone has any rope recommendations for the rope runner pro or useful tips for the adjustment id appreciate it as I've been using the ZZ for years and am new to the RRPro.

This was a very cold day around 10-20 Fahrenheit. Also, Finally found to download at 1080p so quality should be much better.

Rope Runner Pro Fun in the Snow

Thanks for watching! It was really cold and the gopro battery couldn't handle it, so this was all the footage i got from this super dead spongey oak removal that had 7 squirrels come out of it while i was getting the throwball in the tree. The RRPro did great though now that I have the setting dialed in

I used the rope runner pro on the tree previous to this job to try and play with the settings, I am clearly not done with adjustments but exited to get comfortable with this device.

This climb was redemption for the day before when I tried to access with a bucket lift, but it was not tall enough to safely rig down the tops and miss the power lines. It was fun and sucsessful, plus some bloopers at the end

Use the recommended ropes that are in the manual. It can flatten ropes out that are not recommend. Your friction setting is at the lowest position. You might need to increase the friction. The ropes are: Sterling htp 11mm and 13mm Yale kermaster 11mm and 13mm Notch equipment dragon 11mm Tuefelberger tacyon 11.5mm Tuefelberger hi-v 13mm Teufelberger DragonFly 11.1mm Sampson Ivy 11.7mm Sampson vortex 12.7mm Notch Banshee 11.7mm As far ast the Sterling htp. My Sterling htp addiction did not work with the RRP. It looks like there is a difference between the htp and htp addiction. I'm guessing this was the cause of my issues.
I don't run the pro, but i use the vertec pretty often. I use it on a courant rebel 11mm rope, but i run it on the friction setting that if i really bomb in hard it will slip for a half second before fully stopping me. I prefer that to the jerkiness of it a higher friction setting, but it sounds like you need to go up a notch on the friction setting.
Hello! I've had the same problem with the RRP and Tree Runner Safe Vision 11.8 mm rope. Almost always when i came to the end of the descend RRP did not grip as it should! During the climb and up until half way down, everything was fine. It has to do with rope core displacement. If you are happy with the friction when you climb and you experience problems towards the end of the descend, that's probably it. You are looking for a rope where inner core remains constant under load. I've never experienced the same problem on Teufelberger Tachyon 11.5 mm, it works perfect with RRP.
Great man thanks for that I’ll have to try that rope out
Hi, I’m your new subscriber to your channel
Heck yeah thanks man I’ll sub you right back
@ are you talking to me or someone else
I'm Calling my lawyer for that clickbait sir
lol technically it did fail sir also you are blamed for lanyard knotting up 🤣
@@ethanclimbs8 xD
looks like you are on the lowest friction setting
Yes every other setting was way to jumpy for the rope runner on descent and was was too much friction making it hard to ascend so setting 5 was the best
That was happening to my zig zag after a year and half of heavy use it wore the zig zag out
I've never had my RR slip even a little bit, what size is your rope? It should be 11-13mm
I’m unsure the size but it is a hella stretchy rope I have the xstatic I’m going to try next to see if that’ll be better before adjusting
@@ethanclimbs8 That's your first mistake... Know your rope size
I'd say try another rope I have been climbing on an og rope runner with the same rope for at least 10 years even rolled the pins around and replaced them once. I have the new rrp now I think they both like a rope that has a core that won't flatten out and. Also probably need to adjust that pin a smidgen
Very nice job buddy you're trimming no gaffs on very professional good job God bless stay safe
Thanks man! Appreciate it, stay blessed my friend
Definitely needs adjusted👍 mine was jumpy at first, so i adjusted it out too. Well after a few climbs i think the RRP breaks in and needs to be tightened. If the rope is flat...that may be the problem though STAY SAFE
Yeah same for me at first it was super jumpy and hard to rope walk, I may try another little bit thicker rope before adjusting it again we’ll see, I appreciate the input man
That was a sick jump off at the end!

Man how’s that rope wrench and zz feel?
@@Saymyenameyo I’m still getting used to the rope runner, I’ve used the zz for years and love it for MRS and SRS so far it feels the same but the RRPro is not the best for MRS it needs a few more pieces to make it better otherwise feels great once it’s adjusted, I found the lowest setting (5) is best

Your farts aren't worth anyones time. The fact that you have a camera. doesn't mean you're interesting.
So, you expect for people to spend 14+ minutes of their lives waiting for the moment to hear somebody fart?

@@EricW-q9h very true but drop zones look small from high up, the trucks were 20-30ft away and the ground was soft so I knew they wouldn’t go far. It helps to know conditions of the job site
Black locust makes great fence posts. The wood can last longer than treated pine. We had a black locus fall in to a maple tree, and the maple tree was so strong, it stopped it from falling to the ground and possibly hitting our house. When the work crew came to take it down, the guy practically shit himself, because he had to climb the locust. The tree was about as tall as this one, but wider at the bottom, hence, older.
Does that box on your truck dump. If not I'll show u how I chip in my truck n dump it. 🎉❤
