Rope Runner Pro Fail! (Scary descend at end of video)
This one may not seem like it at first in the video, but it definitely has my heart pumping as I let go of my climbing device and was still descending pretty quickly. So, if anyone has any rope recommendations for the rope runner pro or useful tips for the adjustment id appreciate it as I've been using the ZZ for years and am new to the RRPro.

Thanks for watching! It was really cold and the gopro battery couldn't handle it, so this was all the footage i got from this super dead spongey oak removal that had 7 squirrels come out of it while i was getting the throwball in the tree. The RRPro did great though now that I have the setting dialed in

Use the recommended ropes that are in the manual. It can flatten ropes out that are not recommend. Your friction setting is at the lowest position. You might need to increase the friction. The ropes are: Sterling htp 11mm and 13mm Yale kermaster 11mm and 13mm Notch equipment dragon 11mm Tuefelberger tacyon 11.5mm Tuefelberger hi-v 13mm Teufelberger DragonFly 11.1mm Sampson Ivy 11.7mm Sampson vortex 12.7mm Notch Banshee 11.7mm As far ast the Sterling htp. My Sterling htp addiction did not work with the RRP. It looks like there is a difference between the htp and htp addiction. I'm guessing this was the cause of my issues.

I don't run the pro, but i use the vertec pretty often. I use it on a courant rebel 11mm rope, but i run it on the friction setting that if i really bomb in hard it will slip for a half second before fully stopping me. I prefer that to the jerkiness of it a higher friction setting, but it sounds like you need to go up a notch on the friction setting.

Hello! I've had the same problem with the RRP and Tree Runner Safe Vision 11.8 mm rope. Almost always when i came to the end of the descend RRP did not grip as it should! During the climb and up until half way down, everything was fine. It has to do with rope core displacement. If you are happy with the friction when you climb and you experience problems towards the end of the descend, that's probably it. You are looking for a rope where inner core remains constant under load. I've never experienced the same problem on Teufelberger Tachyon 11.5 mm, it works perfect with RRP.

I'd say try another rope I have been climbing on an og rope runner with the same rope for at least 10 years even rolled the pins around and replaced them once. I have the new rrp now I think they both like a rope that has a core that won't flatten out and. Also probably need to adjust that pin a smidgen

Black locust makes great fence posts. The wood can last longer than treated pine. We had a black locus fall in to a maple tree, and the maple tree was so strong, it stopped it from falling to the ground and possibly hitting our house. When the work crew came to take it down, the guy practically shit himself, because he had to climb the locust. The tree was about as tall as this one, but wider at the bottom, hence, older.
