The NEW Super Auto Pets Update is HERE!
It seems like it would be decent as a standalone unit holding down the mid line that you don't need to scale much. It would make sense for a transform pet (like ammonite) or equipment to work on this but instead transforms into a pet that uses mana. Hopefully with how they're expanding on the cross synergies there's something that makes the hippocampus more viable with multiple synergies.

I think the main issue with new Hippocampus is that it's not that interesting after a couple runs. You have to have kitsune. You have to have some way of activating it at least twice for it to be relevant. You have you have something to go with that Kitsune to benefit from the mana. You also have to either spend gold on rolling or have a pet that rolls for you. You can't really get that creative with Hippocampus builds with maybe 1 free spot on your team
What if instead of gaining it's give mana to pet behind it?
Yeah, the fact that it gains the mana instead of giving it to the friend behind really constrains the builds you can do with it
