Thank you for this great video. Delightfully British.
Thank you, Robert.
Lovely video, thanks for sharing!
Thank you very much. Glad you liked it.
Nice video! Will you be going to the gala this year?
Thanks, glad you liked the video. Undecided gala wise at the moment. A lot will depend on the weather.
@@UKHeritageRailways Ok. There will be a visiting engine at this year’s gala. There is some more information about the event on the community page on my channel.
Very enjoyable - makes me want to visit this part of England. Much appreciated ...
Thanks, Jay, glad you liked it.
Nice video 👍♥️
Thank you.
Great work guys 👌
Thanks, Vaughan.
Was just thinking (this afternoon) about spending a day at the NNR next week - after the Test Match has concluded.
What a pretty line.
A nice introduction and preview for our visit next month. Thank you.
Many thanks. Glad you liked it.
Nice memory. I live in Bierton and learnt something new from your video.
Thanks John.
Thank you four great film. More please.
Thanks Andrew. The constant wet weather has stopped me going out and shooting videos so far this year, but hopefully things will get better.
Great film more please. Thank you very much. Loved it.
Very interesting but the unnecessary and intrusive music made it very difficult to concentrate on what was being said
Recently spent a day riding 3 different steam engines on this line! Well worth the money! A great day out for all the family!!
my favorite railway :DDDD
What a great video. Your personal involvement make it even better.
Thanks, Andre.
An absolutely brilliant video!
Thank you LB.
How delightful...
Thanks, Declan.
WOW!!!! What a film!!! Love the color of it. Did you color grade on that or what did you do, please? I subscribed and like it.
Many thanks for your comment, Gilbert. It was shot on my Canon C100 mk2 in HD C-log. Then edited, color graded, and upscaled to UHD with Super Scale, in DaVinci Resolve Studio. All the sound was recorded on my Zoom H2n which has a decent deadcat on it, needed that day as it was very windy. The sound of the gulls came from my sound fx library, and the footsteps of the running boy are foley edited to fit. The soundtrack was mixed in Pro Tools.
It was mind-blowing. That's why I loved it. I got the same camera recently and am still working or learning to use it.@@UKHeritageRailways
@@gilbertyuga It's a great camera. I use it with the Canon 18-135mm IS STM lens.
Great video, but I do love to hear the trains and not the music
There are the sounds of the train mixed in with the music. On the outward journey there are no locomotive sounds to be heard and very little track noise. On the DMU section the music is hiding the conversations of the people on the train so you are not missing anything. All the footage where there is locomotive action there is no music. What are you listening to the video on?
Took my son Mathew there several times when he was younger and on one occasion while watching the steam engine take on water it spilled over onto the tracks to which he instantly said look Daddy it’s having a wee wee. Never laughed so much as did everyone around us.A great preserved line to visit and must go back sometime and believe it or not he still remembers it to this day and he’s nearly 30.
Thankyou - What a brilliant little video made in the most clever way - Past Present and Future - awesome
Thank you for your great comment.👍
Even though i was born in brum in 1959, i dont remember these! Spending holidays in glasgow in 60s, i certainly remember them running there!
My auntie Mabel King ran the pub in the years 40-50 perhaps before then, right next to the level crossing .My mothers family lived along Aylesbury Road,Bierton,so lovely to see this video,l have lived in Italy for 58 years I'm now 80 so many memories of England ❤️👍👏💂🇬🇧
Many thanks for your feedback.
Seems like a really nice little railway to visit will definitely set a few dates aside for this year. 😁
I wish they could extend their trackage. Their line is way too short.
Such a contrast from your usual fayre, but well worth doing. Brilliant!!
Thanks! I've been feeling a bit jaded as far as railway videos go so decided to do something else. It was the music track which suggested the subject matter to me. I've also got another non railway video on my other channel. th-cam.com/video/XSEvgz4ReXs/w-d-xo.html
Just looked at it. Lovely. @@UKHeritageRailways
Thank you for sharing this. I used to live on Bedgrove and my parents at Bierton so we walked across the Crossing and past the Prince of Wales most weekends. That was in the 1960s/70s.
I was just four months old at the time. Trolleybuses I only have second hand observations of other people!
As a young boy i can just remember the last trains here.I lived in Ashley Row and watched the rails been cut up and taken away in tipper lorries. Thanks for a lovely little film.
Thanks, Allan.
hmmmmm Neat!
I was there on that day. I still have all my 1/- tickets from the day as well.
Wow. What gets me is how long ago we were there. Where has the time gone?
I am only eight months older than decimalisation and just four months old at the time of this footage. Too young to understand or remember that period!
@@angelacooper2661 You make me feel old. I was seventeen when I shot this.😃
I'm not surprised - you must have been born in 1953 and therefore now seventy. This footage is as old as me, so aged 53!!!
What a lovely video! We live at no.7, one of the cottages in the middle, set back from the road! I found a book a few years go about the Aylesbury Railway and branch line to Cheddington, but otherwise have found very little information or photos, so it's wonderful to see your video. It would be amazing if you had anything else to share and any information on the middle cottages and why they are different from the terraced ones, any old photos would be great! A couple of years ago, a chap in his 80s dropped round and knocked on our door, he said his name was John Tomey and he used to live in our house back in the 40s/50s onwards when he was a little boy. We invited him in for a cuppa and chatted for a few hours. He said his early memories were of the war and seeing only women on Broughton Crossing because the men had been sent off to fight. Lovely chap, I wonder if you or your family know him?
It's wonderful to hear from another resident, and I'm glad you like the video. Unfortunately John Tomey doesn't ring a bell. Like the second world war the men also went to fight in the first. in the picture it is my great aunt, Nellie Hall nee Stevens, actually holding my father in around 1914. Her husband was in the Royal Veterinary Corps so was away looking after the army's horses .
Railway videos should not be accompanied by music. All you need is the music of the train and locomotive itself!!!
I respectfully have to disagree with you on that. This is the style of railway video that I make and I have no intention of changing.
Henrietta are Toby’s carriage has been based on from original Thomas the Tank Engine books we’ll remembered him because of resumable
As to this video, I disagree. Music is added very cleverly here.
Super footage caught on a lovely sunny day thanks for uploading really enjoyed it.

At the NNR, Do you know what happened to the flatbed wagon carrying a “Navy” style blue with white grey tip torpedo? I have seen it before in 2020 or 2021. 🤨❓
Sorry, Mathew, I've no idea.
great video 👍
Thanks. Glad you liked it.
Hi! We would like to use some of the footage from this video for publicity for the overhaul of Andrew Barclay 2157. Would this be okay? We would happily credit you.
Yes, please do. If you would like a copy of the camera originals please let me know.
Only just realised how the world slowly became more agressive. Shape of vehicles. Pre 1980 vehicles were all soft and rounded off. But later years became more angular and agreessive looking.
What ‘Safety First’ looks like 👍

Had the pleasure of traveling on this line a few years ago. Absolutely loved it. And I have a Station Master Bear from Holt Station too. It’s such a lovely project and the fantastic work and care put in by those who run it has to be seen to be believed. If you’re ever in this part of Norfolk folks don’t miss this. ✨💖✨
Thank you for coming back again, I hope you enjoyed yourself.
I did and will no doubt visit again.
if it is silent video, then what a beautiful sound design!
That's very kind of you to say so. Yes, it was originally silent, being shot on my standard 8 Quartz 5 movie camera. That's me in the yellow jumper aged 17. The two shots of me were shot by Peter Middleton, a Thames TV cameraman who, along with his brother whom I worked with, had gone to Walsall for that event. He later set up Video 125 making drivers eye view videos. I became a recording engineer specializing in audio post, and the soundtrack was done in my own studio, which I still have and use for my current videos.
beautiful
Thank you.
