THIS VIDEO, was the main reason I wanted to redo everything, the new camera gets the aspect ratio so much better than the old one did, not to mention I shot it in the worse, widest possible mode in January. NOT THIS TIME, hero 12 with max mod lens in wide 60fps mode. rear camera is a hero 10 in linear mode.

thanks for posting this up. good to see the course, hopefully will try it next year
Dope,
That is so cool! How did you do that video so I can try.
it's my new goPro hero 12, there are several types of timelapses now, this one is star trails, and everything was set to max and longest, as it's a very dark sky here in teh mountains of arizona
@@thunderdogproductions I never knew GoPros could do that, very interesting and cool.
OOPS, SORRY, My ending got cut short. I was just revamping the bullet points of the advantages I have noticed so far. To get the rear wheel going, I still need to swap out the freehub bodies and move the freehub over to the 29x3 wheel.
That is just plain crazy
and my video is tame compared to some others. i skipped a lot of features I thought I would be able to ride. I definitely want to try it on an enduro bike. mine is an XC bike essentially with fat tires
This was so cool Mark! Those formations you get to ride on are just awesome. Thanks for putting this video out there for all of us to enjoy!! Stay safe in 2024 brother 🍻✌
thanks old man fat bike!!! I am happy to be back making videos, I made 1 last year I think.
check out Pierce's vdeo, its nuts, way better than mine, but he also has way better riders with him and a drone as well. saw it and I immediately started researching, its 3.5 hours north of me, but well worth it. Defnitely need to go back when there is more daylight out, the sun was low the whole time, making some video useless. m 2 months the sun will be a lot higher and I wll go back with front and rear camera, and hopefully a friend with a drone
State and city?
Pine, AZ
Once again, this would’ve been soo much better than Bearfoot. Once my riding buddy Scott sees this, he’s gonna put me in timeout from picking trails for a bit. Lol. Please let us know when Bearfoot gets redone. I’d love to have a “do over” on that one. Great video.
one thing I learned fast was that sometimes those small 2 mile trails on a computer monitor look enticing but turn into absolute hell. There's another one called rock springs over off fire road 64, it connects that fire road and the highline/azt. Its 1 mile. but 600 feet and most of it at the end, it took me 40 minutes. but it saved me from coming back in the dark. I NEVER even hike or walk after dusk there is a bunch of new mountain lions that were kicked out of their dens in the past 2 years that are trying to establish themselves all over the mountains surrounding town... not to mention bears, and coyotes.. out of all that, the scariest part was probably riding down the highway where there was no shoulder in places. that chili verde pie is the BEST! the strawberry creme is great too for dessert. that lady is one of my "sponsors", lol, meaning i get a discount
also, rock wall trail, your original plan back down, isnt really fun. it's an ATV trail, full of baby heads and sharp ones too. I put 15 psi even on my 5 inch tires and I can blast thru it, but, you need a enduro or DH bike to do it. my derailleur B tension screw unscrewed itself from all the jarring. its on here, on my channel. Ive done it a few times but once I got the KOM, I stopped
Great vid. We did that ride the next day after our Bearfoot / Pine Canyon / 87 Odyssey. Looks like it was in much better shape here. We felt like we were riding in a sand box for half the trek. You’ll have to check out our Monument Peak vid once it’s dropped (11/18).
trails are great right now! we might get snow again this weekend though!
Oh, man! If we’d known, we would’ve definitely done that one instead, or even the next day. We were so wrecked from the Bearfoot / Pine Canyon / 87 trek, that we opted to do an easy ride in the Star Valley area. Definitely next time! Probably won’t be able to get up there til next year. Something to look forward to. Thanks for the tip.
its not far... there's tons of options now from 3 different starting points on Strawberry Mountain, we are having the absolute best fall season for weather so try to come up before the snow hits. lets do a collab video sometime. ill be coming down that way once its gets too muddy here.
I went from Loon to just past Spider Lake, and or to Wentworth Springs and back before returning to Loon Campground. 15 miles on the Rubicon! The Surly Ice Cream Truck on 6psi soaked up all that chunk as well as anything could. The Jeepers were in disbelief. 4 of my friends meanwhile ride dirtbikes in from the Tahoma side. The less skilled of them had a more brutal time than I did. Nice to be able to pick up and carry when needed! The granite slabs were surely the best effort-to-reward ratio, but lots of fun throughout, if you're up for it!
cool, yes the jeeps looked at us too like we were crazy, i told him this is the crawler of bikes, then he understood.
I know this is an older video, cool ride regardless. I also have a fat bike 😁

what was your question?
What time of year was this filmed? Looks lovely and green. Heading there for a 3 day bike packing trip this coming week.
this was mid or late august, sorry for t he late reply
Hey Mr. Skinny Legs, nice video and riding! Let me know when you'll be back down in the desert and I'll take you through a great loop at Brown's Ranch. Brown's doesn't disappoint! Fat bikes of course...
hell yes! we're buried in feet of snow up here, i need to ride! all i can do is snow shoe with the dog
the fork is about half a mile from the start
Do you know if the mongoose juneau on amazon is a good buy? It's on sale right now for 398 bucks and I'm thinking about getting it. I haven't found any other fat tire bikes that compare to this price point on the market. Everything else is ridiculously expensive. What do you think? Thanks.
no idea but used is always a good way to look, lots of people get a fat bike then they dont like it. I am going to upgrade the hardtail to a carbon one with GX for about the same cost as the alloy one was brand new with SX
This was in 2021 so the temperature was not 122 on any day that year as you said. The only 122 degree day was June 26, 1990, I remember it well. Nice video otherwise.
Wow it's been that long? I got my number from a friend so he probably exaggerated it by about 5 to 8 degrees, instead of using weather.com
Awesome vid dude!! Really enjoyed watching this, sub 👊 really wanna ride here one day 🤞
FAT FUN AT IT'S FINEST!!!!
definitely a bucket list item!
❤ the bike falling sound effects. 😆 🤣.

MAGURA UPDATE - I got them dialed in finally, from the awesome guys at Absolute Bikes Sedona. they freaking ROOOOKCCCKKK!!! super modulation, but instant stop if I want. no fade, no heat fade, even with all that rotational momentum of a fattie! Tested on a few super long super steep runs off the Mogollon Rim.

WoW, so happy you finally decided to do something with this footage!! That looks like a BLAST!! Nice little wheelie by the way. OK, I gotta ask man... Where is this place?? Stay safe out there and HAVE FUN 😁
It's not really a secret, it's just SO FAR away from anything. It was a 2 hour drive on dirt roads south of green river, UT, on the map it's called "saucer basin". I got the GPS if you ever need it too. If you ever watched 127 hours, where James Franco has to cut off his own arm to survive, this is only about 3-4 miles away from Blue John Canyon, where that happened. I was gonna go to the Great Gallery, but with no GPS, and cloudy, indistinguishable terrain, I decided to just ride around where I could still see the car
Where did you get that extender piece from? Great idea!
it's a roadmaster 48-10 Hi-Lo adaptor. I cant remember if i got it on amazon or etrailer, just look it up. the 10 is 10 inches, there are a few different sizes.
2021 was so awesome!!!
just got my first fatty, can't wait to hit some trails here in NM
Sweet!!! Fat bikes are great in the desert. Check out this cool channel New Mexico outside, those guys rip all over and know of lots of fat bike only trails too.

@@thunderdogproductions I will be getting some mtn bike training to match your skill level...yo yo dig it😁
Great times❣ It was pretty 🥶!
say what? you can buy a nice mountain bike for less than a thousand man. like, there's a lot of room between a walmart bike and 1500 bucks. just saying.
you're right, but I was looking for a fat bike with suspension which was about $1,200 1500 after all the taxes and everything. Remember I was trying to split the difference between a racing bike, a trail bike, a Fat Bike, and skiing. The ones that I saw for under a thousand would not stand up to the abuse
Another thing I didn't mention in the review was that my mom was actually helping me get this and one of her stipulations was it had to be new because she wanted to make sure I had a warranty. Yes there's a lot of great used bikes that are under a thousand
@@thunderdogproductions bro.... there's a lot of nice new bikes for under a thousand. anywhere from 700 to a thousand is mid tier hard tail. giant for example.
@@Daniel-yo5es is it a fat bike? also, "mid-tier", I would consider it to have at least an NX groupset, and I have yet to see one with a n NX groupset for under 1000
@@Daniel-yo5es giant's only fat bike is the Yukon and it's like $2k.
Love the bike and video. Can tell your running the Maxxis tire's great choice. What kinda fat bike you on? I have the 2016 Diamond Back El oso Grande Happy trails! and Merry Christmas!
this is my starter bike, a motobecane nighttrain bullet. those tires are really god in snow, but I heard the compound gets really hard in the cold... Still far better than my jumbo jims in the snow. I have the 27.5x3.8 minions on my new bike, and I love them! lighter, faster, but same grip thanks for watching! top 5 of the year comes out tomorrow
Good to see your fur baby.
Yes! On to the ride 🙌
Yes!!
Nice vid, iconic trail! Good to see the wide BB still fits through some of those rocks. I wouldn’t ride the insane parts either!
Yes I certainly can't blame the 120 mm bottom bracket for not clearing, but I actually made it through that top rocky entry part. the other stuff, not so much. there was a lot of really fun places to session though. they are bigger and steeper in person than in the videos, I found out. I went in thinking I could do those rollers, but I didn't
Wheel size ?
this one is a 27.5". 3.8" maxxis minions for the tires, which I actually LOVE. I hate the maxxis minion 26x4.8", its extremely heavy and sluggish. this one is leaner, meaner, and still grips really well.
Wowza❣Absolutely 💯 beautiful scenery 😍. I hope through intense mtb training...I able to ride that in the near future.
you will. All you gotta do is believe. and ride. and ride. and then ride some more. and take a lesson from Sedona Mountain Bike Academy, you have an endless resource available, just open up and let it all that high frequency energy flow into you !!!!
Great video ! well done mate!! Fat-Bike! awesome!!
Thanks a lot!
Good choice on bikes. Just purchased an American Stout last month.
Right on!
Cool video!!! I was with you on the ride, but I was the sweeper, so I didn't get to hang with everyone. Hope to see you again!
cool! I usually get to know the sweeper pretty well because I am usually the one gasping for air in the back. But this was the first ride of the weekend and I managed to keep in the middle most of the time. at 2pm though, The Hardtail Party/Dusty Betty ride, I got to know the sweeper pretty well !!
Nice, way to represent! Curious what the comments were from that crowd. I follow his brothers channel.
nobody really said much. I noticed my rear camera got a lot of double takes but not too many questions. Moe from Awesome MTB interviewed me and asked all about it, he was stoked to see a full suspension fattie. The one comment I got was "that's gotta be heavy!", and I reply saying, "no, it's not."
I didn't see Rich. I found both these guys in 2020 when Rich put out the wheelie video
Scenery and ride looks amazing❣ 💯👍🏼
yes, it was sick
Looks like you're hitting more rocks than you used to... Thanks for sharing.
yes, I was intentionally aiming right at the janky stuff in certain places as I was testing out all the new suspension. feels like a flying sofa!
Congratulations on the full suspension fat bike. Fat fully’s are incredible.
it's an absolute game changer!!!!! 2 days of Sedona MTB Festival, 25 total miles and I can certainly appreciate not gaving to use my legs as suspension 100% of the time!!! Funny thing too, I thought I saw you (the lady) there.. same jersey, same black hair, but then I noticed she was not on a fat bike so I knew it wasn't you guys.
@@thunderdogproductions 😀 Yeah, we are still here in NM but it would have been cool to go to Sedona for the festival for sure. Glad you are liking the new fat full squish. They are a completely different ride from the hard tail. Good to have one of each in the bike quiver.
What frame is this

@@thunderdogproductions thanks bro :)
Good video!! What kind of Fatbike to you have?
this video I had my first bike a motobecane night train bullet 2020 version.
Great vid! Just picked up an American Stout last week. They are nice bikes.
mine went thru hell in shipping, but Wheels is the best with the warranty on the axle issue i had. i have my older wheel on there and i can feel it's sluggishness compared to the carbon wheel
