Interesting to listen to this, and know that since 1972, my copy printed in 1971(1967 first publication), I've had a copy of New Sounds For Woodwinds by Bartolozzi was first discovered by me in the 1971 publication as a senior in high school, as an oboist. It even came with a 45 vinyl record, which i still have, with demonstrations for our typical woodwinds of multphonic sounds. It seems like there are a few copies available from a 1982 publication, most without the 45 vinyl record. This is for you "to find out". 🤪 Oboe/Guitar (The tragedy of the dearh of libraries is a shame in our digital age, with only introductions instead of a complete volume for study.) imo Still playing as principal oboe in the Paradise Symphony soon to perform The Composer Is Dead, using note bends in the solo. 🤪

I’ve played oboe for 14 years and I still struggle to flutter tongue. I can roll my r’s, and I know all sorts of different multiphonics and timbral trills etc. What’s the advice for an experienced oboe player who wants to learn how to flutter tongue?

ok litterally the only reason I cheked this out is because I was watching a video of polyphya listening to and commenting on fan covers of some of their songs, and one person played a saxophone solo over part of "Playing God" and started "singing" while playing, and I needed to see if this was actually possible, and if it was done with any other wind instrements, especially since I can "sing" while whistleing, actually forgot how to wistle altogether then a few years ago upon relearning I almost imediately figured out how to hum or sing while wistleing, so much fun, though I don't play the oboe, it's cool to see that that's even ever something that's done.
