In 2 Timothy 3:16-17, the Apostle Paul states, all Scripture is given by inspiration [breathed out] of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.

I believe Christians can and should base their beliefs only on Scripture. The Bible is its own interpreter and the sole infallible source of authority for Christian faith and practice. This is called the doctrine of Sola scriptura (Scripture alone).

I read and recommend the NKJV (New King James Version) the second most accurate english translation of the Bible. Although the KJV (King James Version) is the most accurate it's written in 17th century English and very difficult to understand.
