I could've sworn I commented, the video froze for me so maybe that has something to do with it 🤷🏾‍♀️ I have an 11 yr old too and booooy this season has been a struggle for me. I miss our bond from when she was younger, sometimes im like who is this?!?! I pray and my husband encourages me. I'm working on now understanding her now, growing and maturing in this day and age is very different. As far as the holidays, not the same for me anymore. I just enjoy being with family. I also think we are doing away with the massive gift giving and do more acts of service for others.

I liked how you explained the situation with your daughter in a way that still honored and protected her. Kudos to you for that. I think in some form or another, this year has been more challenging than usual for a lot of people because the areas that they are/were being challenged in are those that hits closest to home for that particular individual. At least, that's been the case for me. This Christmas was different for me because it was the first time I truly made Jesus the focus of my celebration instead of focusing on what I didn't have or wasn't able to provide. By doing so, I gained a newfound appreciation and joy for life itself that oftentimes gets overlooked or taken for granted because of its demands. Anyway, I appreciate your videos because I can always walk away from them inspired, encouraged, or with simply a smile. Thank you kindly for your authenticity and your willingness to let your light shine.

Happy holidays to the both of you. Your daughter was hilarious with her "coffee". I also loved your car chat and the experiences that you have in mind for your daughter. It's refreshing to hear especially in this day and age. I'm excited for the changes you're going to make to her bedroom. Oh, and btw, I've been applying some of your suggestions regarding the care of my nails and I have been seeing progress. I've noticed that simple changes like wearing gloves when I wash dishes, filing my nails instead of cutting them off when they chip or following your nail repair technique when my nail break has also helped.

I don't like shopping during the holiday season or any occasion when the stores are crowded more than usual. Your daughter was so funny. At least she tried to soften the blow by saying that she loves you lol.

You are so funny about those olives. You talk about olives so much that I had to get me a small jar, just so I could see if they taste as good as you say. I'll let you know if I like them when I do try them. Oh, and I liked the jar the Greek olives came in as well. I'd repurpose it and use it as a vase with glass rocks at the bottom and a lovely floral arrangement cascading from it somewhere in my home. I enjoyed the haul and thanks for the tips about what Sam's Club had, and Costco didn't around this time of year. Although I'm not much of a chocolate fan, I do think I'll have to try the chocolate covered pecans since I do like pecans. Let me know if the chocolate overpowers the flavor of the pecans.

It's good to know that Value City is still around. The stores in the state I used to live in went out of business, so I thought they all did. Thanks for doing this review. They always had quality furniture that I thought was reasonably priced. Seeing your fireplace and hearing your review tells me that it hasn't changed. What I really liked about your fireplace was the digital settings for the temperature and the different color choices for the flames and the crystals. I thought that was a nice touch.

I think that version of eggnog was supposed to be a healthier alternative to the original and that's probably what contributed to the difference in the taste. Nevertheless, I appreciate your daughter's honest review of the product, and I won't be purchasing it, but I will be giving the pizza and mozzarella sticks a try. I liked the touches of Christmas decor you added to the kitchen. The towels you chose brought in some of the pink you have in the living room. That was a nice addition. I really liked how the cannisters turned out also and the addition of those nutcrackers was perfect! Your daughter was too funny while doing her rendition of a drumroll, and I absolutely enjoyed how she decorated the dining room table. She really did a good job. You might have had a late start with putting up your Christmas decor, but everything is coming together nicely. Thanks for posting another great vlog. Oh and keep the reindeer on the floor and the table. They look fabulous there.

I absolutely love your Christmas picture, and I am glad to see that you are incorporating scriptures back into the beginning of your vlogs. I also noticed that your subscribers are increasing. Congrats!! You picked up a lot of things I'd like to try myself. The only items I've had from your haul are the ground turkey and almond milk; everything else is new to me, so I am looking forward to hearing your reviews on the items you chose. Maybe for a video idea, you could expand this video idea by also including you and your daughter cooking and trying a new food item or maybe a few snacks and tell us how you'd rate them. I'm so glad to hear that situation with your daughter was resolved quickly and appropriately. Does her school go all the way up to high school? I'm in agreement with you about wanting a home with a lot of land. I actually want a couple of homes with a lot of land (one in the U.S and the other in Africa). I also, want to own land in the U.S with enough acreage so that I can build homes, grow our own food, etc. My goal is to be able to have something of value to pass on to present and future generations within my family.

I love the way you listened to your daughter. You gave her the space and all the time she needed to fully express herself to you. You're laying a good foundation, and I commend you for that. Now when you were telling us about your love/hate relationship with rice, just for you to say that you guess you just have to read the instructions was hilarious to me, because mine is a hit and miss too even when I follow the instructions 🤣😂🤣. I guess if we keep practicing, we will eventually get it. This video was very enjoyable and btw, I love the colors of your living room. Thanks for sharing.

That was so cute and simple enough to allow kids of all ages to help as well. For the younger kids, I've seen it where the parents used pipe cleaners to string the ornaments together and apply them on a branch by twisted the pipe cleaner to it. I think both methods could be a great idea for varying ages. Thanks for sharing. Your tree looks beautiful.

Did they have pickled onions?? I used to love eating them growing up. I couldn't do the pickled pig's feet though. Seeing it sitting in that pink or red colored juice used to freak me out as a kid lol. I loved the car chat. Thanks for sharing.

Those memberships do come in handy. I prefer to buy in bulk just so that I won't have to repurchase items so frequently especially when it's cold outside. Her hair does look amazing. I really like it. I enjoyed the car chat. We do have to look back just to remember how faithful God has been and continues to be. To be honest, I don't have to look back far! Where I'm from we call them hair knockers or ponytail holders. It's a shame that I rarely see little girls using them or barrettes anymore. I absolutely love seeing little girls/ preteens/ young ladies looking age appropriate. I guess that's becoming a lost art too,

I totally agree with you 💯. Those hood beauty supply stores understand the assignment. They are ALWAYS well stocked and with a little bit of extra that you didn't know you needed lol.

Well one thing this video has taught me is that all Aldi's aren't created equal because my Aldi's (the one's I've been too) doesn't have all of the non-food items your store has. This was a great video. Btw, did you like the shrimp spring rolls?

Fun fact: did you know that since Aldi's isn't a store that originated in the U.S, "their" brand food items are actually healthier than what the FDA approves for Americans to eat because they have higher food standards than we do?

I understand exactly where you are and what you're feeling concerning your daughter. While you're trying to make this transition as smooth as possible, just be mindful that the both of you are navigating unfamiliar terrain. There will be people that will have their opinions (sometimes unsolicited....yet well meaning) about how you should deal with certain things, but every parent's experience will vary. With that said, I'd advise you to rely on and seek God even the more. Besides, who better to help you with your daughter than the One who created her.... The Maker Himself! You have laid a good foundation already, so capitalize on that while keeping the communication between you two a loving and safe space. You got this!

I appreciate the thoughtfulness and care you always put into making sure her lunches. They are healthy and aren't too heavy either. Do you plan your meals according to what can serve as lunch ideas for her as well? Either way, she doesn't seem like she's a picky eater, so I'm sure that helps.

The lunch looked good and as always; I loved the note! Do you have conversations with her about how she randomly tells you how the notes make her feel or maybe help her feel inspired? I'm sure the older she gets, the impact of them will have much more meaning.

Every time I see olives in your videos, I chuckle to myself saying, "there she goes with those olives! That's one food/snack item she will NOT forget to stock up on lol". I haven't tried their hummus, but I will. Thanks for the suggestion.

I love the way you used the vase. The way you styled, decorated, and incorporated everything into your already existing decor came out so well. As a suggestion, could you put videos like these out first, so it can be a teaser to the video that shows how you actually make them. That way it'll have a sequential order to it OR just incorporate them all into one video which includes a before, and after which also shows what the space looked like before adding the decor. I hope this suggestion helps or perhaps sparks another idea for more great content.

I have similar canisters of varying sizes. This was a great way to use them and incorporate seasonal items. Your daughter did an excellent job for it being her first time. I absolutely love how they came out You both did a great job and like you said, what a good way to incorporate it into a fun/creative family activity as well. Your daughter is definitely a vibe and I'm here for it lol.

I absolutely LOVE home decor! Too bad this is an old video. I would have gotten A LOT of those items. They had some really nice things and the prices were reasonable too.
