In the decades I've been riding and driving on Ortega Hwy. This is the first time I have seen something like this! I wish California would return to forest management. The devastation eliminates the species the activists say they are trying to save! Thank you for sharing!

That MG under the Tree, was a 1972 MGB, that was marked for sale for at least the last 7 years, that I’ve seen driving by. As a collector of old cars, and Beetle’s, that is really a heart breaker…! More cars destroyed, by a senselessly started fire, by cal trans workers!! More reason to sell off your cars, if you’re not really ever going to restore them. Give them a fighting chance!! These met a terrible fate, and lost…

I remember in 1975 me and a couple of my surf buddies just got our new Cadillac wheels for a skateboards and at sunrise skateboarding from the lookout all the way down to Lake Elsinore it was a wild ride Tim sigsbee and Mike Arreola you guys f****** remember that awesomely gnarly time then we had to hitchhike back up Ortega to get to our car at the lookout

60+ years in So Cal and watching all the fires during those years I've learned a thing or 2. This is 100% natural, the hills/forests are made to burn and if you live in those areas you must know that. If you don't, you didn't do your homework. Not that I don't have sympathy for people who lose/lost everything and the heart break/upheaval that comes, that really sucks, but it should be expected. I'd love to live in those areas and if I did I'd at least know there is a very high chance it will all be burnt up at some point. At least there is a very low chance of fire in those areas now, can't say the same 20 years from now. Best of luck!

Man thats a bummer, I drove that for my commute and that dude had so many different classic cars. He used to put one out for sale on the road feom time to time. I would always slpw down and see what I could see as I drove by. What a shame.

I did this drive last week. Before the fire, you couldn't see those car hordes. That one property had hundreds of cars. A lot of classic cars gone. The fire station up there made it though. I thought for sure that place would be gone.

The destruction in Cariso is terrible. That road that you were going to turn right on can take you all the way to Clinton Keith. Turn left instead there and if the roads aren’t blocked, you can go to the top of Saddleback and down to Trabuco canyon. I think that MG on the corner in Cariso was for sale before it burned. Thanks for sharing the video. Very sad.

I’ve been visiting San Clemente/Dana Point from England since 82. Drove the Ortega a few times. At the San Juan end on the right I visited a ranch with Horse,The owner had quite a few cars I wonder if there his!

Aw dude. I did that road on a rental bike a few years ago. I usually ride pretty fast, but on the Ortega I was white-knuckled just going the speed limit. I actually had a couple of cars pass me. I felt like such a putz. It was great though.

Been over 10 yrs since I have been on Hwy 94, quite far from N. Orange County. Not familiar with Jacumba.

Man. That is so much worse than I thought. I know the Ortega like the back of my hand. I have been riding it and driving it for over 55 years. Due to all the destruction I had to think hard where you were on the route due to all my landmarks were gone... Hell's had already burned (insurance fire I suspect.).

FYI....you are not allowed to fly a drone near a wildfire.

Have rode Ortega countless times. Wow..................do not even recognize it anymore. Rode Hwy 39 yesterday and that as well got hit by a Fire, then the Ranger chased me out, they do not want any motorcycles even though it is Open. Nice filming with Drone.
