    How could we reduce the risk for humans operating in human-robot environments? If my dad was working in an automated factory, I would wanna be able to make sure that a robot wouldn't accidentally pull him into a furnace or something.

      That's an excellent question! The scary, heavy, powerful automation robots typically unaware of their surrounding environment can be very dangerous for human interaction. That is why these robots are usually operated in isolated environments. However, the robots designed to work with humans (i.e. UR10) have added safety features: operate at low force, collision detection, force-sensing. In future, robots would also become more aware of their surrounding increasing safety. Further, our work tries to understand how human behaviors change with change in robot performance, similar work would help design better robot!

    As someone who dosent really know what is going on; what are you testing? Cognitive fatigue, what is that? And how is this related? The fact they they got to deeply concentrate with small breaks?

      Hi @oskarboman9308, the video shows the task and different levels of robot autonomies. The human operator controls the robot using joystick control and we collect ECG data (heart data) from the human. We develop an algorithm based on reinforcement learning to adapt the robot behavior based on the cognitive fatigue in the human operator. I will link to the full research paper once its published!

      I understand a bit more now, interesting how you are able to put data on this. I assume this is quite useful while driving, although i also believe its already in newer cars, some sort of driving assistance which does small corrections automatically
