Wow. I was in B Co, 1st Bn, 509th Airborne Mechanized Infantry, Mainz, Germany; from December 1971 to June 1973. A lot has changed since then. All the way my brothers.

Wow…Scout platoon CSC Company 1/7 Inf 3rd Bde 3rd ID Mec (1975-76) Aschaffenberg. 1976- duty of patrolling the Berlin Wall different ways for a time period, one of them as on the video, in a couple of jeeps armed with M-2 thru the American sector. Lot of germans stood at the side of the way, thanking us, waiving and/or shaking hands as we went by. It was patrol by choppers too. Day and night! Beautiful experience. Thanks for posting the video.

I have been trying to find anything about when my dad was stationed in Germany during 1969 -1972.... His name is Daniel Thomas Bolen.... Anyone recognize his name?
Unfortunately you’ll probably need to find out what unit he was in first. There were around 350-400,000 US troops in Germany at that time, so it’ll be hard to find someone who knew him unless you can narrow it down to a unit
Look up any military records you may have . Keep searching
