@@o.ttravels The train was held outside Watford Junction because of a problem with another train in front of 1B34 . I left Milton Keynes Central 7 minutes late. Arrival into London Euston was 36 minutes late.

Oh that must've been annoying! On the plus side at least you'd get delay repay compensation

@@o.ttravels Exactly. I wasn't exactly in a rush either (my connecting train was the 20:00 KGX-SUN but I expected that something would go wrong somewhere.) I still had enough time to ride c2c 720s to Southend Central (except someone blocked the doors so I had to stay on to Southend East and go back) .

Yesterday my EMR 222 train arrived 16 minutes late into Leicester. We then arrived into London St Pancras at 20:50 instead of 20:29.

True! Although they were at a point where they were too unreliable so it was good of LNR to use WMRs Class 730s to replace them.

@@o.ttravels I've been told that is the plan so keep a look out from December as I think they are doing it to free up some 185s for more doubles for extra capacity.

I heard that the Leeds to Huddersfield service will be taken over by Northern so that'll allow more 6 Carriage Class 185s across the network.

I think that the 1tp2h Manchester Piccadilly to Newcastle service won't return, as LNER will probably be increasing their services from London to Newcastle to 3tph from December 2024 when they make major changes to the timetable. So that'll mean more Class 802s are available too.

The 170s operate the Leeds to York service via Harrogate and the Scarborough to Sheffield service so they appear at both Leeds and Hull. However a Class 170 very rarely operates the Halifax/Leeds to Hull service. It is almost always operated by a Class 158. Go on Realtime Trains and see if you can find a Class 170 operating from Leeds to Hull in the past week, I can almost guarantee that you won't find one.

The Class 450 was on the slow line to Alton, my Train was on a Fast service to Poole.

No, it never usually runs from Halifax to Hull. There was a major incident that day which resulted in many Trains being displaced and unable to stick to their original timetable so they used the Class 170 as it was in the right place to get the timetable back on track. It was down as a Class 158 when I checked in the morning.

It was toward Hainult on the Woodford to Hainult shuttle.

You might get lucky one day, it could happen. It was on the Halifax to Hull route the other week which was very unexpected!

Probably not Leeds to Chester as these services often have 4 Carriages but they'd be pretty good on the Manchester Picc. to Sheffield route. I'd like to see a 195 come towards Hull, that'd be really good!

Just checked Realtime Trains, both routes have a mix of 3/4 Carriage Trains, usually a Class 195.

Yes, it runs at 15:18 every weekday from London Euston to St Albans Abbey

Only 2 months prior! This was in 2022 so not sure if Caledonian Sleeper have raised their prices. Also it was mid-September so off peak and it was on a weekday.

Oh, really? That's a shame! The 730s are due in service within the next 2 months (LNR said Autumn 2023) so they could potentially be out before the December Timetable change.

@@o.ttravels much sooner, I believe its the next couple of weeks, rumour it's this Friday but obviously there's a high chance it isn't. lnwr staff have said within the next couple of weeks

That's interesting! I've seen them on test however they've kept very quiet recently and there's been no news on when they will enter service. On Twitter they give very vague responses saying 'Autumn 2023'. I'm wondering if there will be a farewell tour for the 319s?

They are really comfortable! Perfect for a 1 hour journey!

A load of stupid reasons like noise complaints, driver training, bad for the environment e.t.c. It will unfortunately mean a reduced timetable and the existing fleet will be stretched for TranSpennine Express from December.
